Hi.
Because the entire sector in one massive public sector sinecure circlewank populated by the very worst middle class bigots who think they are the voice of the plebs.
I wonder when the East Anglian Daily Times got rid of all its subs.
I believe the leader of the Conservative Party could be the most consequential political leader in 40 years. Our country faces serious problems at home and abroad. Our politics refuses to accept the medicine needed to treat the problem. We need someone with extraordinary zeal, personal drive and a fierce will to get Britain back on track… much like we did in 1979. And that ended up rather well.

Watched a 1963 Twilight Zone the other day.
A woman at the Sheffield Town Hall protest today said,
“Jews are the most hated people on Earth. Why? Because they are killers and psychopaths”
When asked “all Israelis?”
She replied “90%!”
She was not policed. Her views are good to go.

It's been quite the eye-opener watching people who routinely rage about the lack of grooming gang convictions suddenly take such profound offence at historic rape convictions being secured on the strength of victim testimony.
Which, of course, is precisely how the majority of grooming gang convictions are secured in the first place.

I haven't been on this site for a bit.
But I haven't seen anyone share the photo the New Statesman staff staged in 2013 of Russell Brand as Christ, and themselves as his disciples. It seems to have been scrubbed from the web.
It made me angry then and it makes me angry now.

According to the Daily Mail Russell Brand is “a sex predator fawned over by the Left”. Here is a well known left winger fawning over him:

In Fahrenheit 451, the chief book-burner, Captain Beatty, describes how reading became obsolete because the public demanded increasingly fast-paced entertainments, and those entertainments slowly corroded their ability to think. “Books cut shorter. Condensations. Digests, tabloids. Everything boils down to the gag, the snap ending. Classics cut to fit fifteen-minute radio shows, then cut again to fill a two-minute book column … Many were those whose sole knowledge of Hamlet was a one-page digest in a book that claimed, ‘Now at last you can read all the classics.’ … School is shortened, discipline relaxed, philosophies, histories, languages dropped, English and spelling gradually neglected, finally almost completely ignored. Life is immediate, the job counts, pleasure lies all about after work. Why learn anything save pressing buttons, pulling switches?”
In this passage Ray Bradbury foretells the intellectual hollowing out of the working class, the advent of AI-generated “summaries” of classic novels, the attention-frying culture of short-form video, the relaxation of educational standards into non-existence. All of this in a book published in 1953.

Expect years of this. Books, documentaries, tell-all interviews, the lot. We've reached one of those media moments where the gloves are off and the shoe's on the other foot.

Listening to an hour long podcast is not the same as sitting thru 4 weeks of evidence at crown court. You shouldn't need this explaining to you.

Lots of people failing to grasp that saying "on such flimsy evidence" is ridiculous when all you've done is read a couple of posts online, rather than sit through days and days of testimony like the jury did

Russell Brand has been convicted of rape because a jury heard 3 weeks of evidence, understood consent, listened to the victims and concluded he's a rapist. Not because he's a narcissist nutcutlet who's never met a far-right Christo-vax-conspiracy theory he didn't want to hump.
