Rockefeller Center’s Christmas tree has arrived in NYC! 🎄 The 76-foot, 75-year-old Norway spruce traveled 200 miles from West Edmeston. A crane lifts it into place tomorrow. It lights up Dec. 2, continuing a tradition started by construction workers in 1931. – at New York, NY

“ONE OF THE MOST UNBELIEVABLE PLAYS YOU WILL EVER SEE BY A SHORTSTOP!”
OTD 25 years ago, Derek Jeter came out of nowhere to cut off a throw from the outfield and nail the runner trying to score. The @Yankees, who were facing elimination, held on to win the game 1-0, then won the next two games to capture the series, and “The Flip” became one of the most legendary moments of The Captain’s career.

History made under the Arch 🔱
Twenty-five years later, some moments are impossible to forget.
On the eve of the 25th anniversary of September 11th, former President George W. Bush visited FDNY Ladder Company 3 on Thursday—the firehouse whose apparatus was so badly damaged in the collapse of the World Trade Center that it never returned to service. Today, that rig is preserved at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum.
President Bush spoke with members about the days and years that followed the attacks.
The bullhorn speech at Ground Zero. That unforgettable first pitch at Yankee Stadium. And the people who stood together when our city—and our country—needed them most.
A quarter-century has passed, but the memories remain. #NeverForget
