The ugly demand that Muslims prove they are NOT part of some vast terrorist plot is no different than the ugly demand that Jews prove they are NOT part of a vast global conspiracy.
It’s racist gatekeeping. And we ALL need to reject it, no matter who it targets.

Katie Phang on Todd Blanche and the Trump DOJ refusing to turn over foreign language documents in the Epstein files: "The fact that international law enforcement agencies across the world are being stonewalled by the Trump DOJ in terms of cooperation is a big tell — that there is something there that they don't want to turn over."

Two of Trump's fans walked into a Minneapolis polling place in disguise and gave a real voter's name. One election judge didn't buy it. Now they're charged with felonies. Share this so every poll worker working Tuesday knows we've got their back:

Q: Was part of the reason you voted for Trump because of his promise not to start any foreign wars?
North Carolina voter: That was that was the sole reason. It was promised to only be, what, 4 weeks? A couple months? Now we're in month 8.
Q: If you could go back to election day in 2024, what would you tell yourself?
Voter: Don't do it. I didn't use my better judgment

When the Pope and Jaron Lanier are in agreement, listen.
There was a category error built into “AI” from the beginning. Jaron said a long time ago we should be building “tools, not creatures.”
Anthropomorphizing computer programs is foolish and dangerous.
At the Bernie-Bannon AI hysteria conference, they allowed a heretical voice on stage—who happens to be one of the smartest & most accomplished technologists on Earth.
Jaron Lanier explained the origins of the problem—Minsky et al. anthropomorphizing AI because it sold well.
The problem begins with calling it artificial *intelligence* far before you could plausibly argue that it was.
Jaron calmly explains how the industry is now essentially a religion focused on building a machine god instead of tools for humans.
For example, he says “agents” used to mean agents of humans—but now the industry switched it to “agentic AI” which makes loops of prompts sound like they have motivation or sentience.
This is really worth watching. Jaron is a legitimate genius.

The level of betrayal here is breathtaking and beyond disgraceful. This is murder. And Markwayne Mullin should be charged as an accessory.

So Vivek Ramaswamy and his campaign found a homeless woman in desperate need of help, cleaned her up just long enough to exploit her for a political attack ad against her own daughter, and then sent her right back onto the streets? These people aren’t just cruel. They’re fucking monsters.

Donald Trump's department of education cut my specials needs son's support system. If hell exists, I hope, I rule it to punish them.
Growing up with my disability of spina bifida, I still remember not being able to get into restaurants, not having curb cutouts, and not having ramps.
It's because of Senator Harkin’s work on the ADA in the Senate that allowed me and so many other disabled Americans an on-ramp onto society. And it will be beautifully poetic to fight for Iowans in his former seat.
