I see the BBC is framing tomorrow's Israeli elections as a contest between the Netanyahu bloc and "centrist" figures led by Gadi Eisenkot. Hmmm. Here's my analysis for Zeteo:

⭕️ Israeli forces began bulldozing Palestinian land for an approximately 11.5-kilometer settlement road linking settlements near Arraba to others south of Jenin. Israeli forces also began demolishing agricultural and commercial structures near Haddad Tourist Village, including greenhouses, agricultural rooms, a car showroom, and a recreational park.

Not only is "Palestinianism" not an ethnicity, it is a figment of the Zionist imagination, which maintains that Palestinians exist only as an ideological construct ("Palestinianism") rather than as a human and political reality. Ergo, "Palestinians don't exist".
As for ethnicity, no one in their right mind claims that Palestinians, or any national group in the Middle East, forms a distinct and unique ethnic group. Zionists of course claim that Israeli Jews form a unique and distinct ethnic group, and that this group's Moroccans, Ethiopians, Poles, Iraqis, Yemenis, Iranians, Russians etc. have nothing in common with anyone else but everything in common with each other. A view shared by no one in their right mind.
Similarly, a distinct "Arab Muslim ethnicity" also does not exist. Quite apart from the reality that "Arab" is for the most part a cultural/linguistic/political rather than ethnic designation, the premise that Egyptian Arab Muslims, for example, have more in common with Kuwaiti or Moroccan Arab Muslims than with Egyptian Arab Copts, or that Arabs of other religions are ethnically separate from Arab Muslims, is embarrassingly nonsensical.
Israel flunkies like this FDD imbecile can't get enough of these silly rabbit holes, for the simple reason that the only remaining alternative left to them is to proclaim that genocide and apartheid are beautiful.
And for the most part, that is something they will only do in Hebrew.

A very short note on Lula’s victory in Brazil:
Things could have been so much worse. As I explained in a recent article, the stakes were as high as they have not been since the US-sponsored (plus ça change…) 1964 coup which started over two decades of military dictatorship.
The Bolsonaro clan was standing ready to re-impose full, oligarchy-driven vassalage to the Trumpian version of US empire and its Donroe Doctrine. Flavio Bolsonaro’s refusal to accept defeat simply illustrates what was clear before: If he had won, he would not have played by any rules and destoyed not “only” Brazilian sovereignty but democracy, too. So a grateful Te Deum for Brazil!
On the downside, there is more than Lula’s problems with the Brazilian Congress to worry about (although those will matter). More fundamentally, this is a victory of the defensive, a narrow escape even. It is not a trend reversal. It can, perhaps, become one, but that can only happen if Lula, his Brazil, and others around them as well recover the initiative in the ongoing struggle between the Trumpian version of US colonialism and not merely “the Left” but everyone who takes national sovereignty seriously.
There is a great challenge here as well for Russia and especially China: Lula’s victory provides a breather but the key powers of multipolarity (and BRICS) will have to make pro-active use of it. Geopolitically, this is an opportunity to fight against the total US take-over of Latin America. It might be the last one.

Lubna Speitan, author of the Greens4Palestine motion “Zionism is racism”, spells out the central obscenity of our age – the grotesque inversion whereby the victims of ethnic cleansing, Apartheid and genocide must constantly fend off accusations from their tormentors that it is they who are the racists.
“We as Palestinians are being silenced and gaslit and vilified [as we] witness the annihilation, the cold-blooded murder of our families, of our people… our children burnt with phosphorus, having to endure amputations with no anaesthetic, having their limbs torn and shredded, their bodies burnt by phosphorus, being starved to death … And to have to sit here … and try to bury my feelings so I can eloquently and diplomatically shield my anger, my rage, my anguish that every Palestinian is feeling, is an insult.” /1

"The issue isn't just 'Jewish supremacy.' It is where Zionism fits into imperialism. It isn't just, oh, a handful of Jewish supremacists went out there & decided to do something. It's the interrelationship between the formation of Zionism -- the formation of Zionism as a settler colony for the benefit of punctuating the critical choke points in Africa & Asia for the European powers." - @comrade_kumar_

Necro-Economics: Death By Algorithm
Eyal Weizman in London Review of Books
Excerpt:
The killing of civilians and the destruction of civilian property can also be used as an act of terror and revenge. During the 2006 Lebanon War, Israel destroyed fifteen thousand buildings and a large part of the Beirut suburb of Dahiya, a stronghold of Hizbullah. In 2008, it announced that the destruction of cities would be the cornerstone of its deterrence. Gadi Eisenkot – then commander of Israel’s northern front, and, as I write, the man challenging Netanyahu in the Israeli elections on 27 October – explained that the ‘Dahiya doctrine’ would see Israel retaliate with ‘disproportionate power ... and cause immense damage and destruction’. Along with the explicit threat to target civilians, the use of the term ‘disproportionate’ is crucial here. It was meant both literally – Israel is using its overwhelming firepower without restraint to flatten urban areas – and legally: Israel is flouting the laws of war, in which the principle of proportionality is key. If the use of proportionality is taken to suggest support for the ethical, measured, rational waging of war, disproportionate action publicly demonstrates an unwillingness to be restrained by any legal or normative threshold and a genocidal willingness to kill civilians en masse. The Dahiya doctrine was applied in the massive rounds of terror bombing that Israel unleashed on Gaza in the winter of 2008-9, the summer of 2014 and again in the spring of 2021, in which thousands of Palestinian civilians were killed and tens of thousands of homes destroyed.
In between those assaults, another form of calculation was imposed on Gaza, with a relentless siege meant to keep Palestinians on the threshold of life. A military document called ‘Red Lines’ set the minimum number of calories required to sustain Gaza’s population at a level just above the UN definition of hunger (2100 calories a day for men, 1700 for women and a varying amount for children depending on gender and age). The total number of calories was translated into the tonnage required to feed Gaza’s then population of 1.5 million and thus the number of aid trucks allowed into the territory. The same went for megawatts of electricity and litres of fuel and water. What was seen as good behaviour was rewarded by an increase in the amounts coming in, any acts of resistance by the tightening of the siege, like a population-scale version of a Milgram experiment ...
Yet as one of NAZA’s interviewees confirms, with seventy thousand Palestinians designated as military targets and default collateral damage set at twenty civilians for every low-level operative (and more than a hundred for military and political leaders), ‘in this way you could kill the entirety of Gaza.’ As another interviewee explains, ‘the aim was quantity not quality,’ but – as Stalin said – ‘quantity has a quality all its own.’ Genocide is the sum total of individually targeted strikes. This is what the technology researcher Júlia Nueno Guitart, writing about the use of AI in Gaza, has labelled ‘individuated mass killing’. The killing of civilians and the destruction of homes and infrastructure was the intent, not the ‘collateral effect’, of the bombing; as technologists often say, ‘it was a feature not a bug.’

Pulitzer Prize-winning biographer Benjamin Moser says Israel is "actively fomenting" antisemitism by claiming to act in the name of all Jews:
"It's asking a lot of people to say that there's this Jewish army of this Jewish state with this Jewish star on their flag, and they are mercilessly slaughtering tens of thousands of children, but don't confuse them with Jews," Moser said.
He argues that the reported rise in antisemitism is simply a rise in anti-Zionism, "people reacting to Israel and the evil, wicked things that Israel has been doing in our names."

The Hannibal Directive (also known as the Hannibal Procedure or Hannibal Protocol) is a highly controversial military policy used by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) designed to prevent the capture of Israeli soldiers by enemy forces. The core operating principle of the classified directive is to use maximum force to stop a kidnapping, even at the risk of harming or killing the captive forces or nearby civilians.
