Because all this leads to Fiscal drag is which when your wages go up, but tax thresholds stay the same, so you pay more tax even if you’re not actually better off.
If they actually want people to be better off, they will increase everyone’s personal allowance
Replying to @devilpresh @UncoolTimi
this hurt small businesses which needs to hurting in the economy further more
If they really wanted to help people, just increase everyone’s personal allowance.
It means everyone has-more money
remove standard charge electricity there are many ways that can help people not this

Minimum wage goes up, tax rates on higher incomes going up, the thresholds not changing.
Everybody ends up being paid almost the same regardless of the job.
Personal allowance should be 16K if you’re keeping up with inflation

Plus, it’s not like we have a booming economy. This makes it harder on young people entering the Job market employers are less likely to wanna pay them.

No that’s not the reason people are complaining because increasing the minimum wage without increasing your personal allowance means you’re more likely to be in a higher tax bracket quicker, that’s if you can get a job.
Because it put you on a higher tax bracket quick and they not increasing they not personal allowance.
if you’re gonna increase the minimum wage to £13 an hour you need to increase the personal allowance to 16 K a year if you’re trying to keep up with inflation
If you want to save people money on bills, especially energy the standard charge on electricity Will go such a long way you’ll probably save the average household anything from £300-£400 a year if you scrap the standard charge on electricity

Man United needs money fuck all this emotional shit. I need the owner with a blank cheque-book.
The one thing I would say about the Glazers they are good employers compare to someone like so Jim who would you rather work for?
Joel Glazer was once so hands-on as owner and co-chairman that he would speak to executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward “several times a day” about the day-to-day business at Old Trafford.
One ESPN source said Joel was so involved in the club’s daily operations that he even had the final say on expenses as trivial as paint orders for the Old Trafford maintenance team.
Joel also vetoed plans to furlough United staff during the COVID-19 pandemic, insisting that employees remain on full pay despite the cost to the club [@MarkOgden_]
He’s so incompetent as a team owner even the glazers are better owners than him at least they had a standard
