๐Ÿšจ BREAKING: Node.js just dropped its OWN security bombshell. 4 HIGH-SEVERITY vulnerabilities patched TODAY, including one that could let hackers remotely execute malicious code on vulnerable servers. โ†’ 10 SECURITY FLAWS were addressed in today's Node.js release, FOUR rated HIGH severity. โ†’ REMOTE CODE EXECUTION: CVE-2026-111497 is a serious flaw in Node.js's Brotli decoder that could allow attackers to execute malicious code remotely. โ†’ TLS SECURITY BYPASS: Two separate vulnerabilities could trick affected applications into accepting certificates for the WRONG server under certain conditions. โ†’ Think about that. Your application could establish an encrypted connection while failing to properly verify WHO it's talking to. โ†’ THREE MAJOR NODE.JS VERSIONS AFFECTED: Node.js 22, 24 and 26 all required emergency security updates. โ†’ RUNNING NODE.JS 18 OR 20? Those versions are END-OF-LIFE and aren't receiving these official security patches. โ†’ PATCH IMMEDIATELY: Update to Node.js 22.23.4, 24.22.1 or 26.12.1, depending on your release line. If you're using Docker, rebuild and redeploy your containers. PHP AND Node.js both facing major security disclosures on the SAME DAY. If you run a website or application, TODAY is the day to check your servers. And remember: the public release of security patches can give attackers a roadmap to systems that haven't updated. Don't be the last one to patch.
๐Ÿšจ A MASSIVE internet security emergency is unfolding right now. ๐Ÿšจ Two CRITICAL vulnerabilities have been discovered in PHP, potentially putting millions of websites at risk. โ†’ NEARLY 70% of websites with a known server-side language run PHP. The potential scale is ENORMOUS. โ†’ TWO CRITICAL security flaws have been confirmed, each scoring 9.2/10 in severity. โ†’ Attackers could potentially take control of vulnerable servers remotely, without authentication. โ†’ Reports suggest PHP versions dating back to 2004 could be affected. The exact scope is still unconfirmed. โ†’ EMERGENCY PATCHES are scheduled for TOMORROW at 10 AM ET. Website owners are being urged to prepare immediately. โ†’ Europe's CERT-EU is warning organizations to patch ASAP or consider TAKING EXPOSED APPLICATIONS OFFLINE if they cannot be secured. โ†’ WordPress, Magento, Laravel and potentially millions of other PHP-powered websites could be at risk. โ†’ Once patches go public, hackers could reverse-engineer them and race to attack servers that haven't updated. The vulnerabilities are CONFIRMED. The full technical details remain secret. Tomorrow, the race between hackers and defenders begins. This could get ugly. FAST.

After this year's hardwallet hacks, I recommend @vultisig Coldcard lacked entropy Ledger suffered a supply chain attack Both were industry leaders! and their hacks prove the single-device concept is cooked The world needs more robust technology, on convenient devices that don't scream โ€œI hold cryptoโ€ You need max entropy & operational diversity on a multi-signature setup to avoid getting drained Could be 3 old phones... but I say download the Vultisig app on 3 diverse devices, e.g. Windows desktop + Android phone + iOS tablet Whatever the case, you don't need to buy anything, so your name & address won't be in some corporate crypto database that can be leaked Create a 2-of-3 Secure Vault & immediately back up the new shares separately Later reshare to more convenient devices if needed A vault can be reconstructed from its shares, so never store multiple shares together. Diversity to create them, diversity in storage, too There, you now have more security for your crypto assets than the US government
This is why we designed our app to be usable on any devices you as a user trust. Which is your go to device for Vultisig?

A hacker moves stolen funds through THORChain. @bitget asks the network to block the identified addresses. @THORChain refuses. Behind ~$6.3M swapped from $ETH to $BTC lies a much bigger question: Should permissionless infrastructure decide who is allowed to use it? A thread ๐Ÿงต๐Ÿ‘‡ -- 1๏ธโƒฃ ๐Ÿ”Ž What happened? On September 24, Bitget detected unauthorized transfers from its hot and warm wallet infrastructure. The exchange later revised the total affected amount to approximately $387.5M. Some of those funds eventually reached THORChain. -- 2๏ธโƒฃ โšก The THORChain route According to CoinDesk's analysis of public THORChain transaction records: 27 successful swaps converted roughly: 2,390 ETH โ†“ 75.2 BTC Worth approximately $6.3M at the time. The BTC outputs went to a single address. -- 3๏ธโƒฃ ๐Ÿšซ Bitget asked for intervention Bitget publicly identified attacker addresses and asked THORChain to refuse service to them. THORChain rejected selective blacklisting. That distinction matters. Because THORChain does have emergency controls. Just not in the form Bitget requested. -- 4๏ธโƒฃ ๐Ÿ›‘ A halt is not a blacklist THORChain node operators can coordinate emergency actions through Mimir. Trading can be halted. Signing can be halted. Trading, signing, or an entire connected chain can be halted. The network can even halt trading globally. But these controls affect entire categories of activity. They are not simply: โ€œBlock wallet X.โ€ -- 5๏ธโƒฃ โš™๏ธ This is an architectural question Imagine suspicious funds entering through Ethereum. Halting ETH trading could prevent further ETH swaps through that route. But it would also affect legitimate users trying to swap through Ethereum. That is very different from selectively refusing one address while allowing everyone else through. A circuit breaker is not the same thing as a blacklist. -- 6๏ธโƒฃ ๐Ÿงญ And that creates a difficult boundary If node operators begin deciding: โ€œThis address can swap.โ€ โ€œThis one cannot.โ€ They are no longer only validating protocol rules. They are also interpreting external claims and deciding who may access the infrastructure. Who provides the blacklist? Who verifies it? Which jurisdictions count? Who decides when an address is removed? -- 7๏ธโƒฃ ๐Ÿงญ Permissionless gets uncomfortable here No one needs to defend the hacker to understand the principle. If an exchange can ask decentralized infrastructure to stop transactions because of a security failure elsewhere, where should that power end? An exchange today. A government tomorrow. Another jurisdiction after that. And who decides which request is legitimate? -- 8๏ธโƒฃ ๐Ÿšช Exceptions can become precedents There are situations where intervention may feel justified. But infrastructure rules are not written only for easy cases. Once selective censorship becomes an accepted response, every new incident creates another debate over who should be blocked, by whom, and according to which authority. An exception creates a precedent. A precedent can become an expectation. -- 9๏ธโƒฃ โš–๏ธ Who should bear the cost? This question becomes even harder when intervention affects everyone. If THORChain halted Ethereum-related trading to respond to a security failure at an external exchange, legitimate THORChain users could lose access to that route too. Why should permissionless users bear the operational consequences of a security failure they did not cause? Protecting victims matters. So does avoiding new victims through collective restrictions. -- ๐Ÿ”Ÿ ๐Ÿ” Censorship resistance is tested at the edges Bitcoin made censorship resistance a foundational property of decentralized money. THORChain brings a related principle into cross-chain infrastructure: native assets moving through rules enforced by a distributed network rather than permissions granted case by case. That principle is easy to defend when everyone agrees with the transaction. Its real test begins when they do not. The Bitget incident exposes an uncomfortable trade-off: How do we respond to stolen funds without gradually turning decentralized infrastructure into another permissioned checkpoint? There may be no perfect answer. But the architecture we choose determines who gets the power to answer that question. Protecting people matters. But when protection requires restricting everyone, we should ask what else we are giving up. Freedom is rarely lost all at once. Sometimes, it disappears one reasonable exception at a time. ๐Ÿ”โค๏ธ RT and like to support decentralized cross-chain infrastructure ๐Ÿ’ฌ Letโ€™s discuss and move forward together toward a new decentralized world. #NDW #THORChain #CrossChain #validator thorchain:native
A THORChain network halt is an emergency security mechanism designed to protect the protocol. A halt is not a selective freeze of specific funds or an individual swap. During the May 2026 exploit that resulted in $10.7M stolen from the liquidity pools, the attackers addresses were never blacklisted and therefore never prevented from swapping on THORChain. THORChain is permissionless and doesn't censor by design. It's a neutral public good/tool as described by @mperklin in the post below.

On July 30 I decided $TCY was overpriced relative to $RUNE Both assets should be correlated, maybe not at 10% relative market caps as @jpthor would say, but certainly lower than 17% Against logic the trend kept going up! why fight it So, in order to take advantage of this distortion in the market, I set up a single-sided LP on @RujiraNetwork to the upside My thesis was TCY would eventually crash below 17% market cap of RUNE Given that long term I wanted to keep my TCY, putting the asset to work made sense. I could round-trip and get my TCY back, plus fees in a custom concentrated liquidity pool Mind you I say "put the asset to work" but the truth is neither TCY nor RUNE are idle capital; when staked or bonded, each one yields a share of @Thorchain's real revenue earned from its users' swap fees therefore, the returns on my LP had to be greater than what I would get staking or bonding They certainly were. I've almost got back all my TCY, plus I made a whack of yield, and there's still some room to go out of range on the bottom side Solidly in profit on both assets of the pair Also, since the range is between two crypto assets, and both assets are up in dollar terms since August 1st, I'm doubly in profit compared to the dollar All in all a textbook play, based on a thesis that market distortions and volatility can be profitable if you decide to be a market-maker You can do it too, with your own idle assets Try your own strategies, by putting your crypto to work on Rujira. You can set up large ranges to minimize the impact of impermanent loss. All options are there. Try it with BTC ETH BNB BCH AVAX TRX USDT LTC...
