JESUS IS LORD. Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

We're going to look into getting the Library updated without requiring an app update. That would be a better experience for the users. We're happy to hear you can jump back into The Ten Commandments again! 🙌

“That Christianity should be twisted in with national constitutions, that the kingdoms of the world should become Christ’s kingdoms, and their kings the church’s nursing-fathers. … do your utmost to make the nations Christian nations.” — Matthew Henry, An Exposition of the Old and New Testaments, on Matthew 28:18–20

Today, do more than celebrate the Reformation, practice it at home. “You are like to see no general Reformation, till you procure family Reformation” - Richard Baxter The Reformers didn’t just fix churches, they restored homes. Submit to the Lordship of Christ yourself. Then lead your family in worship, on Sundays and throughout the week.

That's it, we're adding Thomas Goodwin to the Library. teapawt.net/MattSmethurst/status/2…
On the latest Everyday Pastor episode, @LigonDuncan asked @JoelBeeke what we can learn from the Puritan Thomas Goodwin. Don’t miss Dr. Beeke’s answer. One of the most special moments we’ve ever had on the show.

7 The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers. 8 Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. 9 Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. 10 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: 11 whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 4:7-11

This is a great idea. I will add it to the development roadmap for a future version release. I'm also working on a feature to allow users to develop a custom reading plan.

The reformation of the church and society must begin with the reformation of the household. We cannot reasonably expect churches to be spiritually healthy, communities to be godly, or nations to be righteous if the families that make up those institutions are neglecting their Christian duties. If fathers are not teaching their children the Scriptures, leading their households in prayer, practicing godliness, and cultivating obedience to Christ, how can we expect widespread spiritual renewal? Not sure where to start? Let Devotus faithfully guide your family through daily worship with prayer, Scripture reading, reflective commentary, catechism, and a hymn to sing together as a family.

The commentary isn't pulled from anywhere, it's original content written for Devotus. It's AI-assisted, using a writing pipeline I built that drafts each entry in the Reformed tradition, guided by a "cloud of witnesses," if you will: Calvin, Puritans like Owen, Watson and Matthew Henry, Scottish Presbyterians like Rutherford and Boston, and Old Princeton (Hodge, Warfield, Vos), among others. It doesn't quote them, but they shape how each passage is read and written. Every entry (except Baptist catechism, obviously 😆) is held to the Westminster Standards (I'm Presbyterian), and I've personally reviewed each one. I've read all 1,189 scripture entries and all 546 catechism entries. That's where most of my time building this app went, I spent months on that piece alone.
