ALT Black History Month Jerseys for our Black History Night on Feb. 26. Design by: J. Freeman Robinson is a local designer and illustrator with over 20 years of industry experience working with several noteworthy clients. He is currently the Design Manager at The Kennedy Center.

ALT Details: The shoulder patch pays homage to the 1974 Capitals logo and also the year that Mike Marson was drafted,the first black Washington Capitals player and the second black Canadian NHL player. The type for the players names is The Neue Black. It is based off the signage of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) Chicago Freedom Movement.

ALT Type: The type for the numbers is VTC Ruby, named after Ruby Bridges. She was just 6 years old and was the first African American child to attend formerly whites-only William Frantz Elementary School in Louisiana during the New Orleans school desegregation crisis on November 14, 1960.

ALT Color: The captain and alternate patches feature the traditional Pan-African colors of red, yellow, and green. The Capitals logo has been altered to showcase silver accents.
