The UC Regents rejected divestment in 1978, but student referenda at 5 UC’s including UCLA supported SA divestment, just as the student body at UCLA today supports divestment from weapons and arms manufacturing.

There is precedent for this kind of divestment, but we need pressure. UC divested from investments with apartheid South Africa affiliated govts in 1986—the largest university divestment in the country—and can certainly do so again. [11/12]
