Today in history
Marks the 1st time I heard my kid swear. There was vast speculation, previous bribery attempts, & much friend pressure with 0 results. Today it happened
She's is 18-yo & in college - it was the mother of all swear words
Fucking Amazing

Siri is still bad, like really really bad. I opened an email with my Uber Eats confirmation, there was a live activity on the screen with progress, and I pulled down and asked Siri "what did I order for lunch?" And it thought for like 2 minutes and then said it doesn't know. 🤦♂️
Okay so the harness and models are clearly bad. Well, then next I opened up the Siri GUI app on macOS and HOLY. It's the worst looking, beginner, basic bitch app I've ever seen. Did someone spend more than 5 minutes on this?
Whoever worked on this app along with the full chain of people who checked off on this needs to be terminated immediately. This is 0/10 terrible software, so embarrassed for Apple to ship this.

Seeing John Ternus smear his fingers all over a beautiful screen is not a selling point it’s disgusting. Apple has completely lost their minds.

Claude has not cost any of my employees their jobs, but it has wildly improved productivity, velocity and schedules.
I look forward to more choices that don't hate America, but the tech is transformative.

The meeting dilemma: too many meetings kills a company, but you also need meetings to solve problems and get work done.
Companies are far better at adding meetings than removing them, which adds up quickly and wastes a ton of time.
It's currently no meeting week at Coinbase, which we do once a quarter. We use this to focus on deep work and reassess what calls/meetings actually need to exist. Meetings have to earn their place on the calendar, and cutting them out is an important part of our culture.

3-year degrees are gaining momentum.
NYU President Linda Mills:
“Universities are due for another evolution: offering 90-credit, three-year bachelor’s degrees in fields that demand immediate workforce development.”
“Four years of college is not an inviolable standard.”

Thanks for all the great feedback on Claude for iPhone Duo!
Lots of folk are now optimising their own Duo apps, so I wanted to share more about how we built it, and a few of the details we sweated along the way.
I’ve left Anthropic after more than a year of working on Claude Code and seeing it scale larger than I ever imagined.
I have really loved working at Ant and believe deeply in the mission, and most of all, the idea of a race to the top.
The idea that if we work hard and responsibly, we can raise the bar and inspire others to great outcomes. And if we all push each other to be better, things can be radically good. I will carry the spirit of this with me forever.
My colleagues at Anthropic are the most talented, thoughtful, competent, and earnest people I have ever met. I am glad they are at the wheel and trust them deeply.
To the community on X, thank you for everything. You’ve made this the most fun (and sometimes stressful) job I’ve ever had.
For me, it is time for a bit of a break before diving into something new.
If you want more excellent Claude Code content, you should follow @addyosmani , @lydiahallie, @_catwu, @ClaudeDevs and of course @bcherny who started it all.

Yes it's true. We use code mode & tool search across ChatGPT and Codex now.
Our current limit of tools per MCP server is ~2k, but that's really only there to prevent abuse. We have plenty of MCP servers that are in the hundreds and even some in the thousands. Even Cloudflare is about to serve their raw toolset of 3k tools to ChatGPT instead of code mode!
Go watch @sarfata's keynote at MCPCon this week for more fun stats :)
there's a nascent trend of hiding MCP tools behind two generic tools: search & execute.
i don't think it's a good default. this basically means implementing tool search & code mode on each MCP server.
but clients like codex already have tool search & code mode that a/ work across all MCP servers and b/ we train our models to be great at!
why make every MCP server build that layer and then make the model navigate both, including a custom one on each MCP server that it isn't trained to be great at?!
expose your actual tools and let clients* find and compose them.
*clients that support tool search & code mode like ChatGPT and Codex

Instinct seems to have completely lost mindshare in my network. Current split: @Muse for personal, @bot for work.
Too many AI personal assistants, too little time to assess all of them. Nice work here: assistantbenchmark.com

Vibe coded my parents' TV this afternoon!
It was showing a sponsored ad before you could even get to Netflix.
Gave Claude Code the model number, it found the TV on wifi, removed 25 Xiaomi packages and wrote a new launcher.
Looks like an Apple TV now lol

Created a new skill for UI generation skeleton effect, something I’ve been using in my UI videos.
These UI examples are built with transitions.dev UI Agent.
