Here is an actress who wants to inspire women to believe that they can be anything they aspire to be without having to stop being true to themselves. That they can embrace their natural skin and their individuality, without feeling the need to put themselves to society’s expectations.
Sai Pallavi doesn’t wear heavy makeup to look glamorous, and that is her choice. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Other actresses does, that is also absolutely fine and that is their choice.
But imagine if she had chosen to wear heavy makeup and embrace a more conventional, glamorous appearance, which she once did in past. (Photos below) Just think about how different the narrative around her would have been today.
And that is what makes me sad.
I feel sorry for us, especially women, who are judged unnecessarily at every step of our lives. We are constantly made to feel that we need someone else’s approval to be considered beautiful, worthy, or successful.
In the process, we begin seeking validation from others, changing ourselves to fit their expectations, and slowly losing touch with who we truly are.
Why should a woman have to change herself to earn society’s approval? Why can’t she simply be herself and still be respected?
