Anyone else wondering how the government acquired the entire earth and now we have to pay them to live on it?
This post is evidence that Alberta's government departments have implemented race-based hiring criteria. Systemic racism is always evil, no matter who is being oppressed.
Will my own @City_of_Airdrie follow suit? Or will they continue to hire based on the amount of melanin in a person's skin?
The best person for the job should get the job. Period.
Today we tabled legislation that would ensure hiring and promotion decisions in the public sector are based on merit, not DEI policies. Mandatory workplace training will be relevant to the roles and responsibilities of the employee, instead of mandatory DEI sessions.
Every Albertan deserves a fair shot, and fairness means everyone competes on the same terms.

A bunch of draft dodging anti-establishmentarians from USA who escaped to BC in the 60s and 70s keep voting for the establishmentarian NDP party.
Go figure?!
It's accurate to say @LDoerkson won the BC election.
But it's more truthful to say @Dave_Eby lost.
Voters in BC decided to punish Eby for his opportunist snap election. They also know that Doerkson's party is filled with liberal socialists, a few red tories, and zero conservatives.
NDP is the "natural governing party" of BC unless Doerkson swiftly takes a chainsaw to key institutions in BC's public service. He can choose, today, to retire in exactly 4 years, or he can forever change the trajectory of BC politics with Ralph Klein's playbook: deep spending cuts, elimination of the provincial debt, the low-tax “Alberta Advantage”, deregulation, and a lasting small-government culture.

Did the referendum work? Voters and poll workers — we want to hear from you.
Elections Alberta confirms 106 polling stations opened late on Oct 19. Some First Nations polls ran out of ballots. More than 3,000 mail-in packages were rejected. The count blew its 48-hour legal deadline, and ballots were moved to central sites for counting.
What nobody has counted: how many Albertans didn't get to vote, and what happened to the ballots after the polls closed.
Unscrew the News is collecting first-hand accounts before the official results on Oct 29.
If you voted, or tried to:
Where you voted (polling station and riding)
The date and time
What happened, in your own words
Photos, video, emails, or a screenshot of your special-ballot tracking page
If you worked the referendum (poll clerk, supervisor, counter, scrutineer):
Your role, station and riding
What you were told to do, by whom, and when
Were you stood down, sent home, or offered different shifts or pay?
Did you see ballot boxes sealed, moved, or handed off? Where to?
Shift texts, scheduling emails, pay stubs
Please don't send photos of marked ballots or voter lists.

I was honored that Rupa interviewed me as she prepared this article for The Free Press.
“Canada has become a progressive country, Alberta is not a progressive province.” Why some disgruntled conservatives are moving to Alberta as a refuge from a country they no longer recognize. Alberta has led the country in interprovincial migration. thefp.com/p/this-week-in-can…
The ratio on this is hilarious.
The term "far right" no longer scares anyone. It's an absurd phrase used by legacy media because they can't read the room.

The only way the right doesn't splinter before the next election is @ABDanielleSmith must make huge strides on the 9 questions.
Not promises.
Not press releases.
Not pandering.
Real policy changes.
She won the last election by only 8%. She's going to lose progressives to the new "Progressive Tory" party. And she will lose independence voters to the ether - many just won't show up to support UCP.
She has less than 12 months.
According to my early polling, about 1/3 of those who voted Option 2 will no longer support UCP.
If those numbers are accurate @UCPCaucus and @ABDanielleSmith just lost 8% of their supporters. (ie 1/3 of 25%)
Note UCP won the last election by 8.6%.
She’s got her work cut out for her.
I'll be scrutineering at the count tonight. Very exciting.
Question 10 on the referendum: what are your predictions?
Alberta needs to leave Canada's mess behind.
Everyone was wondering why these outrageous wages were being posted for a Tim Hortons worker at $55/hour it’s because the immigrants are gaming the system to get permanent residency.
They show that they got a $15/hr job for $30/hr, they get a fake employment contract from the manager Singh and submit the Job posting, send it to the Federal government and it’s considered high-wage high-demand so they get to stay in Canada.
The whole industry isn’t set up to not hire Canadians, it’s literally set up for immigrants to game the system to get residency.
We can’t live in a country that is this wreckless and sloppy.
Canada is not a serious country.

What is the definition extortion?
An AFN draft paper for an upcoming meeting with prime minister, premiers, calls for a First Nations-controlled wealth fund, financed in part by ongoing contributions from projects of national interest.
The paper says the fund should reach every First Nation, whether or not a project is near them and whether or not they consent to a project that proceeds. Receiving a benefit “would not cure an infringement, settle a disagreement or relieve the Crown of its duties.”

I'm scrutineering again today in Airdrie. Much smoother process today, the volume is as heavy as yesterday (maybe more) but people are in and out in a few minutes.
