World POI Day is held annually on 25th October. The global awareness day was created by the Daisy Network to support women with Premature Ovarian Insufficiency (POI) and raise awareness of the diagnosis. There have been updates and changes to many aspects of POI care over the past few years - diagnostic criteria, prevalence estimates and guidelines for diagnosis, investigations and management. POI can be a life-changing diagnosis for many with a need for timely intervention and long-team multidisciplinary endocrine care and support for both physical and psychological health and well-being. We must therefore continue our efforts to educate, spread awareness about it and strive hard to ensure universal access to good quality clinical care and support to all those who need it. Daisy Network is the UK’s only charity dedicated solely to POI. Link - daisynetwork.org

Snoring isn’t always just a noisy night. Frequent or loud snoring can sometimes be a sign of sleep apnoea, where breathing repeatedly stops and starts during sleep. This can affect oxygen levels, sleep quality and overall health. For people living with diabetes, poor sleep and sleep-related breathing problems may also make blood sugar management more difficult. If snoring is frequent, don’t ignore it. Talk to your doctor, especially if you also feel unusually tired during the day. #snoring #sleepapnoea #diabetes #bloodsugar #sleephealth #diabetesmanagement

5 things you should STOP doing after meals! 🚨 Your post-meal habits matter more than you think. 1️⃣ Lying down immediately May worsen acid reflux. If you have GERD, wait 2–3 hours before lying down. 2️⃣ Drinking tea or coffee immediately Tea and coffee can reduce iron absorption, especially from plant-based foods. Keep a gap of around 1–2 hours if iron deficiency is a concern. 3️⃣ Smoking after meals There is no safe time to smoke. Smoking increases cardiovascular, cancer and other health risks. 4️⃣ Eating extra sweets out of habit Frequent excess added sugar can contribute to weight gain, high triglycerides and metabolic problems. 5️⃣ Sitting for hours after eating A gentle 10–15-minute walk after meals can help reduce post-meal blood glucose spikes. Small habits. Big impact on long-term health.

👉Oral PCSK9 inhibitors: A new era of intensive LDL-C lowering. ☝️Key takeaways: 1️⃣ Enlicitide: ~60% LDL-C reduction across three Phase 3 trials, with sustained efficacy through 52 weeks. 2️⃣ Laroprovstat: Up to 51% LDL-C reduction in Phase 2, with a distinct mechanism of action and no fasting requirement. 3️⃣ Combination therapy: Oral PCSK9-targeted therapies plus statins could achieve >80% LDL-C reductions with a single daily pill. 4️⃣ The next milestone: CORALreef-Outcomes and AZURE-Outcomes will establish whether these impressive LDL-C reductions translate into cardiovascular benefits. 5️⃣ The real challenge: Efficacy is no longer the main limitation. Access, affordability, clinical adoption, and long-term adherence will determine real-world impact. ☝️ “Ultimately, their success will be measured not only by their efficacy in clinical trials, but by the degree to which they enable more patients with or at risk for ASCVD to reach lipid goals in routine practice.” 🔗 10.1097/MOL.0000000000001061 @society_eas @AnnMarieNavar

At #EASD2026, Erik Werson highlights that diabetes education must go beyond knowing your blood glucose to knowing what to do about it. AI could provide personalised insights and practical guidance - but access to the technology is key.

2️⃣ Tirzepatide 10 and 15mg vs 7.2mg semaglutide for obesity via indirect comparison of SURMOUNT-5 and STEP UP, as both trials involved 2.4mg semaglutide as a reference point. ▪️In the treatment regimen estimand (TRE) tirzepatide 10 and 15 mg were associated with statistically greater reductions from baseline in weight (%) vs semaglutide 7.2 mg: mean difference (95% CI) for 10 mg -3.17 (-5.01, -1.40) and 15 mg -4.51 (-6.31, -2.80) (Table 1). ▪️Tirzepatide 15 mg was associated with statistically greater odds of ≥20% weight reduction vs semaglutide 7.2 mg, while tirzepatide 10 mg was associated with no statistically significant difference. Graphs that I’ve included from STEP UP are both TRE and efficacy estimand while SURMOUNT-5 is just the TRE. (Study was funded by Lilly, but Wilding, the lead author ran STEP 1 for sema that gave sema its obesity indication.)

It is also really hard to differentiate adult onset T1D from T2D using the common measures. Even antibodies drop off with age. #EASD2026 #dedoc⁰
