Well, there is a storm brewing around Friday the 13th. The American and European long-range forecast models are in interesting agreement with the track of the storm around the same time frame. Though the timing still varies by several hours.

17 major cities across the United States are experiencing their WARMEST FALL ON RECORD!
Cities like Chicago, St. Louis, and Indianapolis have averaged around 7°F ABOVE NORMAL since September 1st!
Springfield, Missouri is running an incredible 10°F above normal, breaking a record that dates back to 1897!
Many of these places have yet to experience freezing temperatures this season, which is already rare on its own.

The latest ECMWF update has interestingly shifted its forecast El Niño peak (+4.1°C) one month later to January.
This likely owes to relentless westerly wind forcing that continues to shift warm water eastward across the Pacific.
El Niño's impacts will extend well into 2027.
