A great write up from @Fishbiology on our recent paper in @EvolAppJournal led by @LauraGExplorer! Life-history and phenotypic variation depends on ancestry and environment in Central Valley steelhead. @UCSC_Fisheries @NOAAFisheries
Hatchery steelhead from different genetic lineages show significant differences in adult life history traits despite inhabiting similar environments-- Great work by @LauraGExplorer and coauthors, now out in @EvolAppJournal onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/…
Biodiversity matters in how we manage species.
Some of the CA #salmonid's biggest challenges are habitat loss, drought, and #climatechange. In this week's Fish Report, learn how #conservationhatcheries have aided in salmon and steelhead recovery, yet also led to diversity loss in hatchery-raised fish: bit.ly/hatchery-steelhead-di…
Wonderful to connect with so many great salmonid biologists last week at the @ICISBConference! Big thanks to Kerry Naish, @charrgirl, and the rest of the organizing committee. Of course, O. mykiss is still The Most Interesting Fish in the World fishbio.com/interesting-fish…
