One of the most successful deceptions of our time was getting many Christians to fear diversity more than racism, equality more than misogyny, democracy more than fascism, immigrants more than authoritarians, the poor more than corrupt billionaires and empathy more than cruelty.

Pope Leo XIV ended 2025 with a fierce warning: “Stop using religion to conquer markets and justify violence.”
He followed that warning with a challenge: stop fearing strangers — and start welcoming them as neighbors. thelettersfromleo.com/p/pope…

This is a truly great cartoon
It questions why the beliefs of America's Evangelical Christians are so often further to the right than the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ

He represents America’s poorest Congressional district.
Meet Rep. @RitchieTorres. He sees a crisis brewing at the intersection of homelessness, mental illness, incarceration, and institutionalization—and it all ties back to America’s rivalry with Russia and China.

her strength, humility, gentleness, warm sympathy for the "frightened" & "those who pick our produce"...so touching, commendable. it is rare to see such courage & integrity in a person representing a religious institution--so often institutions are on the side of wealth & power.
