As we have been tweeting since 2020 PLA attack on Indian Army in East Ladakh , the best way to defeat super power cyber war and missile war, may be to use good, old fashioned, self sufficient, guerrilla warriors.
FORTRESS: The Pentagon is preparing every major U.S. military base to survive 90 days without outside support — no civilian power grid, no global supply chains, no outside fuel or water.
The initiative, revealed in documents reviewed by Fox News Digital, envisions portable nuclear reactors, massive battery storage, and microgrids that can disconnect installations from civilian electricity entirely. Strategic reserves of munitions, fuel, critical minerals, and medical supplies would be stockpiled based on wartime consumption rates. Civilian factories are being pre-identified to shift to defense production during a crisis.
Pentagon chief spokesperson Sean Parnell put it bluntly: "Power is combat now. Without electricity, you lose communications, water, logistics, assembly lines and just basic military command structures."

In January 2026, Major General Chen Yuan (陈源) took over as Garrison Commander of Beijing Garrison. Chen comes from People's Armed Police (PAP) background and he was earlier Commander of PAP in Shanghai since 2023.
Beijing Garrison Commander is responsible for security of capital city. Its a position which is typically held by a PLA Officer of Major General rank. To my knowledge it is the first time that a PAP officer has been assigned such an important responsibility.
Its important to underline that post Theaterisation of PLA only three static formations were allowed to retain direct command of troops. These are Tibet Military District, Xinjiang Military District & Beijing Garrison. While TMD & XMD were made Deputy Theatre Grade Organisations (commanded by Lieutenant General rank officers), Beijing garrison continued to remain a Corps grade Organisation (commanded by Major General rank officer) like other military districts.
Its also noteworthy that PAP has been under unified leadership of Central Military Commission (CMC) since 2018 and there have been earlier instances wherein PAP officers have held PLA billets at this level. But it remains rare. Thus considering the importance of Beijing garrison, Chen's appointment is rarest of rare.
In my view, its impossible not to see this appointment as a sign of lack of trust in PLA higher leadership. We already know about sacking of hundreds of PLA General officers in last few years.

This paper answers why confident idiots run the world.
Cornell University published a psychological paper that explains every terrible boss, every loud influencer, and every broken corporate hierarchy.
It’s called “Unskilled and Unaware of It.”
they tested participants across logic, grammar, and humor to measure the gap between actual performance and self-perception.
And the results are wild.
participants scoring in the bottom 12th percentile consistently believed they were operating in the 62nd percentile.
they were not lying. they were literally incapable of recognizing their own incompetence.
the paper revealed a brutal paradox:
the exact skills required to master a domain are the exact same skills required to accurately evaluate your own competence in that domain.
if you lack the skill, you inherently lack the cognitive capacity to realize you are failing.
this creates a dangerous systemic loop.
the incompetent are blessed with absolute, blinding certainty. their brain protects them from their own ignorance, allowing them to speak first, demand authority, and never second-guess their decisions.
meanwhile, the actual experts suffer the exact inverse.
top performers in the study consistently underestimated their rank. because a task was easy for them, they falsely assumed it was easy for everyone else.
they hesitate. they obsess over nuance. they assume they have nothing unique to add.
we are biologically wired to confuse confidence with competence.
the loudest person in the room gets promoted, gets funded, and gets the microphone, not because they know what they are doing, but because they are physically incapable of seeing what they don't.
the only defense mechanism is building systems that stop rewarding absolute certainty and start demanding proof of work.

Ukrainian MP confirms that 2023 peace plan, which was reported by @FT & accepted by Putin but rejected by Zelensky & Biden administration, envisioned:
"- Russia withdraws its troops from most of the four oblasts it had just declared “annexed.”
- The new line of demarcation runs roughly along the line as of February 24, 2022: Crimea and the part of Donbas that Russia controlled before the full-scale invasion.
- Ukraine recognizes Russian control over Crimea. - Ukraine grants Russia an unobstructed land corridor to Crimea.
- The ceasefire regime is guaranteed by NATO countries that provide protection for Ukraine.
- Russia begins negotiations with the US on its own security guarantees.
-Moreover, Russia was ready to give up the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant as well.
-And the 300 billion in frozen assets was to go toward rebuilding all of Ukraine, that is, together with the occupied territories.
-As for Crimea: we were not required to recognize it as Russian, only to recognize Russia’s control over it. In other words, we acknowledge that right now it is under Russian control (which is how it is). We were also required to adopt a law banning the return of Crimea by military means.
-The land corridor to Crimea, a highway and a railway, was to be built at Russia’s expense. The hardest question was how to guard it. That is why the Russians were ready to give up Melitopol, but not Tokmak: they feared we would cut the corridor with artillery.
-Zelensky rejected this proposal at the time."

Bu görüşmede Aliyev'in Oktay Saral'ın görevden alınmasından ısrar ettiği belirtilmişti. Saral'ın bugün görevden alınmasıyla Aliyev'in talebinin yerine getirildiği netleşti.
Aliyev'in baskısı sonucu Saral'ı görevden almasında dikkat çeken hususlar:
Birincisi ekonomik ilişkiler ve enerji konusunda Azerbaycan'a olan bağlılık.
İkincisi, Azerbeycan-İsrail ilişkilerinin artabileceği sarsıcı etki.
Üçüncüsü, 29 Ekim 2026'da Aliyev'in Ankara'da yapılacak olan Türk Dünyası Toplantısına Aliyev'in katılması garanti altına alındı.
Dördüncüsü, Saral'ın görevden alınması esasen Aliyev'in Ankara'nın içişlerine müdahale ettiği algısı oluştu. Tersine Ankara'nın başörtüsü gerekçesiyle Bakü'nün içişlerine müdahale edilemeyeceğini gösterdi
Beşincisi, Azerbaycan'da Dışişleri Bakanı Hakan Fidan hakkında ciddi iddialar var. Bunların yakında gündeme getirileceği belirtiliyor. Bu durum Ankara'yı ciddi olarak zorlayabilir.
Altıncısı, Bir ülkenin içişlerine müdahale etme girişimi ayrı, başörtüsü kararına karşı eleştirilerin yapılması farklıdır. Aliyev'in en ufak bir eleştiriye tahammülü olmadığı görüldü.
Sonuç; Cumhurbaşkanı Erdoğan, yoruma yer bırakmayacak şekilde: Aliyev'in talebine uygun davrandı ve Saral'ı görevden aldı. Diplomatik ve politik olarak geri adım attı. Kısacası, Ankara, Bakü'nün içişlerine müdahale edemedi ama tersine Bakü, Ankara'nın içişlerine müdahale etti.
Modi Govt deals another lethal blow against drugs with Operation Trident.
Our agencies launched a barrage of simultaneous crackdowns across 38 locations in Assam, Mizoram and Manipur on 23 October, smashing an international narco-cartel. The operation revealed ₹100 crore worth of hawala transactions, froze 1,424 bank accounts, attached properties worth ₹17.82 crore, seized 500 detonators and ₹12 lakh in cash, and led to the arrest of 18 people.
The network trafficked narcotics across the borders of India, Myanmar and Bangladesh through the Death Triangle Corridor. The offensive attests to India’s Himalayan resolve to realise the mission of eradicating every drug network by 31 December 2029. India will hammer until the last nail is driven into the coffin of drug cartels.
Heartiest congratulations to the anti-narcotics team comprising central agencies, and police forces of the three states.

I found a striking contrast between official attitudes to manufacturing production/investment, between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka
Karnataka’s MSMEs struggle with red tape, rising costs and delays:
🔸 deepening crisis gripping Karnataka’s small manufacturers: delays in land allotment and approvals, paperwork, and infrastructure gaps are driving up costs and potentially pushing investments to neighbouring states.
🔸 KASSIA has listed eight major concerns, including delays in land allotment and electricity connections, higher stamp duty on loan renewals, occupancy certificate requirements, pending capital subsidies and inadequate industrial infrastructure.
🔸 An estimated 30,000 industrial sheds in the state remain idle due to the lack of power connections.
🔸 Apart from the industrial sheds, an estimated 1,000 MSME units in Peenya and more than 10,000 across Karnataka are awaiting electricity connections.
🔸 Entrepreneurs are often compelled to visit government offices repeatedly, depend on departmental employees for assistance and face demands for illegal gratification to get legitimate work done.
🔸 “Probably, there are more brokers in KIADB than officers”
🔸 The state has raised stamp duty on each renewal from 0.1% to 0.5% of the sanctioned limit. For a Rs 1 crore limit, the duty has risen from Rs 10,000 to Rs 50,000.
🔸 Minister Vijayanand Kashappanavar acknowledges that Peenya lacks adequate roads, drainage, electricity and water supply. “I have seen the infrastructure gaps,” he says.
🔸 some industrial areas receive electricity for only about six hours a day, and face a shortage of transformers.

🔴Pakistan Puts Journalist on Terror Watchlist After Reporting on Families of Children Killed by Army 🇵🇰
Pakistani authorities have placed journalist Danish Irshad on its Fourth Schedule, designating him a suspected terrorist and subjecting him to restrictions on his travel, banking, and access to financial services.
Irshad says there is no court order behind the listing and that there has been no trial. The Fourth Schedule is an administrative designation under Pakistan’s Anti-Terrorism Act, not a criminal conviction.
Irshad began reporting in Islamabad in 2015 and has covered PoK for nearly a decade. Most recently, he interviewed families whose children were killed by Pakistan’s armed forces.
His listing, issued by the PoK Home Department without specific allegations against him, comes amid a widening crackdown that has placed journalists and activists on the watchlist since the June ban on the Jammu & Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee.
“Adding someone’s name to the Fourth Schedule without any court order and without any trial raises a serious question about the state’s credibility.
How did a journalist’s speaking and writing become an act of terrorism? Declaring anyone guilty without trial can never be justified.”
The former Minister of Information and Broadcasting of Pakistan, Mushahid Hussain, has once again acknowledged an open truth: Pakistan received $5 billion to train 1.25 lakh terrorists for the Afghan jihad against the USSR, and when they became jobless, the ISI used them in Kashmir.
What a pathetic terrorist nation!
Hong Kong and Taiwanese capital was the dominant source of early FDI into China’s coastal manufacturing, including electronics assembly, well before mid 1990s
Hong Kong accounted for half or more of China’s realized FDI throughout the 1980s and early 1990s (often 50–70% of total in individual years), concentrated in Guangdong and Pearl River Delta for labor-intensive export processing.
Taiwanese investment was officially restricted until the late 1980s but grew rapidly after 1987–1991 (often routed via Hong Kong); by the early 1990s it ranked among the top sources, with electronics and electrical appliances a major category (around 24–27% of pledged FDI from Taiwan and Hong Kong in 1992 data, much of it assembly-oriented).
Foxconn (Hon Hai) opened its first mainland plant in Shenzhen in 1988, initially for connectors and components, illustrating the broader pattern of Taiwanese electronics firms shifting labor-intensive production to the mainland in the late 1980s.
Turkey now maintains military forces in Libya, Syria, occupied Cyprus, and Somalia, operating bases on three continents.
@SinanCiddi argues this enhances Ankara’s capacity to assert its maritime claims through military means. fdd.org/analysis/eastern-lib…
