This thread 👍🏻
I’m sorry but unfortunately, this is a pervasive issue. I was at an editorial board meeting for a journal a few years back and the HPB and surgical oncology crowd I sat with made disparaging remarks about acute care surgeons throughout dinner (yes, right in front of me 😒).

No benefit and a statistically/ clinically significant increase in thromboembolic events, which is concerning for it potentially causing more harm. 😬
This was pretty predictable - no benefit of routine PCC in initial trauma resusc: Early Administration of 4-Factor Prothrombin Complex Concentrate in Patients With Trauma ja.ma/3Zaqctg via @JAMA_current part of @JAMANetwork

This is an excellent thread for surgery residents and medical students considering surgery!
🧵regarding the terminology of some common suture needle types. This is a revised version of a 🧵I did several months ago (I’ve been on vacation 😎, and it’ll be a bit untiI I have new material). This is the ubiquitous SH needle we all know. But what does SH stand for? (1/ )

Today’s surgery rounds consisted of a very educational discussion on skin care amongst MDs, APPs, and RNs… and now I need to get my regiment updated and upgraded. Also, apparently there are things I should have already known and been doing 🫣 #alwayslearning

This thread is amazing.
As I stroll on TikTok, I keep seeing parents video their children reacting to The Little Mermaid trailer. So instead of focusing so much on the negative, I thought I’d show a thread of the little black kids who are excited to see their favorite princess look like them.

This!!! I still get severe anxiety whenever someone says “can I talk to you.”
As an attending, this is how I text my fellows lol…trying to break the generational trauma of the phrase “can i talk to you” 😝

We had one of these/ was personally affected. It took multiple women complaining for something to happen.
TW: SH When I was an intern in July, I was sexually harassed by an attending. He was in his 70s and asked me all kinds of intrusive questions, made unwelcome and unprofessional contact (touching my ID, for ex) & tried to look down the v neck of my hospital-issued scrubs. (1/x)
