Thanks @pathakvk @prabhatkhabar
Amazed to see many oldies advocating for long duty hours for residents. But this is against 1992 rules and a punishable crime under BNS. They hide the fact that during long duty hours, most residents are assigned minimal work, no actual learning.

NEET PG 2026: Is anyone actually checking the data before publishing results?
MCC uploaded the Round 1 provisional allotment result, deleted it, and uploaded a revised version with changes!
In the first result, AIR 22, 36, 45 and 46 appeared with TWO different seat allotments under different quotas. These additional allotments disappeared in the revised result.
This is a national-level examination deciding the careers of thousands of doctors, not child’s play!
First, incorrect exam-city messages. Then examination-related failures and re-examination, followed by counselling website crashes. And now discrepancies in seat allotment results!
How many more failures must candidates tolerate? Who is operating, verifying and approving these systems? Where is the accountability?
We demand an independent technical audit and a thorough inquiry into these repeated failures, including the allotment software, data verification process and responsibility of the officials and agencies involved.
Doctors deserve a transparent, reliable and error-free examination and counselling system.

Following @UDF_BHARAT’ case, the NHRC has warned the @MoHFW_INDIA , @GoI_MeitY of coercive action under Section 13 of the PHRA, 1993, for non-compliance with its directions.
The Commission has set Nov 21 as the deadline for submission of the Report.
Human dignity does not end with death. Respect for cadavers is essential to medical ethics, human rights, & public trust in organ & body donation.
We thank @AnujaJaiswalTOI Ji for there continued dedication & highlighting this important issue.

Central Information Commission slams DGHS and send show cause notice
I have filed RTI with DGHS on 28 May 2025 seeking Minutes of meetings, suggestions received from individuals & doctors associations, conclusions made by DGHS, any proposed draft preliminary draft that is in the initial stage on new residency scheme, duty hours or any other document / documents pertaining on that review meeting
This meeting was held on sincere efforts of United Doctors Front with the objective to revamp residency.
But response was not received on time and then proceeded to first appeal for which response not received on time which cornered me to file a second appeal.
But as the PIO of DGHS didn’t show up on hearing date CIC acts tough and demanding explanation

Congrats UDF!!
A significant step for Resident Doctors across India.
Today, the Supreme Court heard UDF’s PIL on resident doctors’ working hours. NMC’s affidavit was placed on record, supporting implementation of the 1992 Residency Rules on duty hours.
Resident doctors deserve humane working conditions. UDF will continue pursuing this matter.

A JR-3 resident says his college entry has been stopped after he raised concerns against his HOD. The college order itself cites the HOD’s complaint and restricts his entry while an inquiry is pending.
If the inquiry has not yet concluded, why is the resident effectively being kept out of his own institution — and allegedly not even allowed to approach the Principal/Dean?
Due process cannot become punishment before a finding. The resident must be heard fairly and protected from any retaliation for raising grievances.

Good news for PG medical students. In the Supreme Court, on UDF's petition, NMC has agreed to implement the 1992 Residency Scheme. It has a rule of maximum 48 hours per week and maximum 12 hours duty at a stretch. On behalf of UDF, Advocate Charu Mathur has filed a PIL. It demands to stop the exploitation of making resident doctors work 70-100 hours per week.
The Supreme Court heard the matter on September 17. In it, NMC filed its affidavit supporting UDF's demand and agreed to implement the 1992 rules. The Court has sought a response from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) on this. According to the National Task Force report, more than 150 medical students have committed suicide due to excessive work stress and lack of sleep.
UDF Chairperson Dr. Lakshya Mittal said that this decision is related to the life of every resident in India and students should not lose hope. Instead of having suicidal thoughts or leaving their seat, any student should take help from Team UDF. Currently, more than 20 medical students across the country are getting help from Team UDF. This includes many students who attempted suicide or submitted resignation from their seat. All of them are being helped to resume their course.

₹12,300/month — barely ₹410 a day.
That is what MBBS & BDS interns in Jammu & Kashmir receive while working in OPDs, wards, emergencies, night duties and patient care.
Their demand is simple: ₹12,300 → ₹30,000/month.
Interns across J&K have been on an indefinite strike since 31 August. After years of representations and verbal assurances, another assurance is not a solution. They need a written, notified Government Order.
UDF urges @CM_JnK @OmarAbdullah @sakinaitoo @HealthMedicalE1 to ensure that the pending matter is expedited, necessary financial concurrence is obtained, and a concrete decision is notified without further delay.
Young doctors asking for fair remuneration for the work they perform is not an unreasonable demand.
₹12,300 is not dignified remuneration in 2026. The wait has been long enough.

Happy to see IMA demands digital monitoring of duty rosters in the backdrop rising suicide and quitting rates of resident doctors in Maharashtra
As India’s largest doctor association with an approximate estimate of 3, 50,000 - 4, 00,000 members, IMA has a huge responsibility to protect young doctors from inhumane duty hours and toxicity
It is high time IMA flexes its muscle with full force and insist Ministry of Health & NMC to strictly implement 48 hours work rule as per residency scheme 1992 and to punish violators severely apart from cancelling license to practice
Height of toxicity in medical education

Fracture , multiple injuries , ear drum perforated with Water cannons and public humiliation : The cost that the Doctors in Madhya Pradesh had to pay for their peaceful protest for stipend !
The MP govt doesn’t have funds to pay for healthcare and education hence they have used forceful violations of machinery to attack on doctors
Anyway , a state giving free ka Bhandara worth ₹ 23,882 crores for ladli Maa Bhen ki yojana is expected to not have a few crores for their doctors !
This is high time doctors across the country unite and massively take on this injustice happening .
