Exit polls are showing the GOPs perceived strict immigration enforcement was one of their few winning issues.
The Iran war was a massive losing issue.
IMO this might lead to accelerated compute price increases. Ask yourself who benefits from that. Hyperscalers for one. More effecient consumers are another. Every existing datacenter will have to get more effecient. The do more with the same portfolio is on.
Democratic blue tidal wave across the Senate and House was a seismic shift that will have a negative impact on the pace of the AI Revolution buildout in the US over the next few years. Will slow the pace of the planned 800 to 1,000 datacenters across the US fueling the AI Revolution…some investors will like the “slower pace”…others view it as adding risk. We estimate 10% of datacenters will not happen now
I can't wait to watch the tech bro pods starting tomorrow. Sometimes life gives you the gift of clarity.

People should always be in control of the future.
OpenAI is against the notion that it would be acceptable for people to be relegated to a role of doing things that “AI systems think makes sense to reward in humans”.
People should not cede control of the future to superintelligence, and that requirement should ultimately constrain AI progress.

We covered the Iran war to the point even our audience who are interested in geopolitics got tired of it.
But it was obvious from the start that it was extremely unlikely to go well and extremely likely to have huge political ramifications.
One of the biggest political unforced errors of my lifetime.
The consequences of tonight will be measured in decades. Biggest own goal in history. Liberation day worked out exactly the way economics predicted. Total shocker.
Socialism is ascendant. Prepare accordingly: "Identify the dominant philosophy of a society and you can predict its future." - Ayan Rand. She saw her entire life burned the ground by the same ascendant philosophy.
Democrats will do two things: make things worse and win a super majority in 2028. Bookmark this. As goes CA so goes the country. You have to win on the supply side, produce more, employ more; a rising tide that lifts all boats. And you have to defeat bad ideas, not run from them.
Bad policy has consequences. Sometimes you need to do more than tell people what they want to hear, especially when what they want to hear means a higher cost of living.

Playwright and browser security reminder.
We saw a post suggesting that you delete Playwright because it bundles browsers with CVEs. That is a misconception. Do not delete Playwright🙃. Here is how it works and what you should do.
No Playwright package bundles a browser. Agents on Playwright MCP or CLI run your stable Chrome, which gets Chrome's security updates, with the sandbox on.
🤖 If you use Playwright MCP or the Playwright CLI
They use the stable Chrome / Edge on your machine, so it gets its normal updates. No config edit is needed.
🧪 If you use the test runner
When you run npx playwright install, Playwright downloads Chrome for Testing, pinned to the build we tested that release against. The pin is on purpose. Your tests run on the same browser on every laptop and CI machine, and a browser
update cannot suddenly break your suite. You choose when to move by upgrading Playwright. New releases usually pin a build ahead of stable Chrome, so you see breakage before your users do.
We recommend this for full e2e test suites on your own trusted app. This build can miss Chrome security fixes until the next Playwright release, and by default it runs with the sandbox off. Do not use it on the hostile web.
📚 If you use the library API
chromium.launch() has the same defaults: the pinned build with the sandbox off. If your code visits pages you don't control (scrapers, agent scripts), max out protection:
chromium.launch({ channel: 'chrome', chromiumSandbox: true })
🔒 Always keep Chrome / Edge updated. Some bugs can escape a sandbox.
Happy testing!

ANTHROPIC IPO INVESTORS PUSH FOR LOWER $1.5T–$1.6T VALUATION: WSJ
Major institutional investors are reportedly urging Anthropic to pursue a more conservative IPO valuation of $1.5T to $1.6T, well below the roughly $2T valuation discussed in recent months.
Some investors reportedly favor a lower starting valuation to leave room for a strong first-day trading gain, with expectations that Anthropic could potentially reach a $2T valuation after its market debut.
The company has not finalized its IPO valuation or the number of shares it plans to sell.
Anthropic is expected to begin its IPO roadshow as soon as next week, with its Nasdaq debut targeted for the week before Thanksgiving.
