There are tremendous hidden costs from wasting food—the land, water and fertilizer for crops; animal feed; man-hours; energy to run farms, slaughterhouses and transportation; and storage. Reducing food waste would tackle climate change on multiple fronts.

Somehow I've ended up as the newspaper advisor this year, and I've honestly never seen kids work harder or be more committed than the team in charge of this.
When kids have something they care about, an authentic audience, and autonomy, they can do some pretty cool stuff.

Test scores are data. A student’s digital portfolio is evidence. The first is a snapshot; the second is a movie. Both tell us something. But the latter is actually more reliable, though it requires collective human judgement, rather than a computer, to acccess @DrTonyWagner
