Did you know a full freezer uses less energy than an empty one? If there is empty space, you could fill it with water bottles. You can also borrow our @energysavingkit from your #locallibrary to find out how much energy your appliances use. For locations: bit.ly/2ErEbqW

What might ambitious, exciting and inspiring rewilding really look like in Ireland?
I found out in the Scottish Highlands last weekend, beyond all my imaginings.

Why is @IrishWater eradicating a 500 year old hedgerow full of nesting birds at #BallybodenReservoir on Montpelier 🏔 than fixing leaks? App the heritage hedgerow must go so IW arborist can inspect trees but it was protected by ABP @sdublincoco @noonan_malcolm @KennedyAnalysis

Tidiness may look nice to some, but it is not really Nature's way of doing things. For the sake of our small creatures that live in, around and amongst Autumn's leaves, please leave the leaves. 💚🕸️🕷️🦗🐞🐛🦋🐌🍂🐛🦟🦠🐝🦉🐿️🥜🍄🍃🌍❤️

Not everyone appreciates the Dodder ‘greenway’ treatment and vegetation clearing. Bike lanes should NOT take away from our riverine corridors and wildlife. Bike lanes should take from roads, not nature. Lots of wildlife driven out of the Dodder. #Greenwashing 😭
On Friday, local reps, residents, and officials celebrated the completion of a vital piece of the Dodder Greenway.
It was great to see the local enthusiasm for the finished project, led by
@sdublincoco, funded by @TIINews, and enjoyed now by people of all ages.
