I learnt of my father Shah Mahmood Qureshi's fall from family after they met him in Kot Lakhpat jail today.
Three and half years ago a hale and hearty lion heart was sent to jail on trumped up charges. He not only fought the cypher case with resolve and courage but refused to sacrifice his principles at the altar of self interest.
For over two years he has been in Kot Lakhpat jail now facing ludicrous and false charges relating to 9th May. He has been acquitted multiple times but remain behind bars due to the government's malafide. Over 90 bail hearings have gone by but the record has yet to be produced.
A man whose innocence has been proven again and again is being held prisoner because the court is being a mockery of. It is high time the judge establish his authority and grant Shah Mahmood Qureshi bail.
My father has devoted more than four decades of his life to Pakistan. He has served twice as Pakistan's Foreign Minister, and as Parliamentary Leader and Vice Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, he has fulfilled important responsibilities and protected Pakistan's interest. He has fought for the supremacy of the Constitution and democracy.
He deserves justice and freedom.
I request everyone to please pray for his health, long life and release from unjust imprisonment.

What Americans call left and right, the world calls empire.
Your left bombs Libya.
Your right bombs Iraq.
Your left funds Israel.
Your right funds Israel.
Your left starves Cuba.
Your right starves Cuba.
And when the dust clears, you ask which party was more humane while the corpses look at you in silence.

when americans say "we're so back," do they realize that this is what the rest of world sees...
yk it’s so fucked up when you find yourself crying tears of happiness watching people from other countries vote for change and actually get it right this time. you celebrate for them, but deep down you can’t help wishing your own country could experience that same kind of hope

This is an exceptionally cruel take when Pakistanis have their Vote and Mandate stolen and have zero representation in Parliament and how their State is run. Pakistani voters are demanded to match US Voters but do Pakistani elections match US elections in being free and fair?

Election days were absolutely crazy man. I'll never forget when people didn't even care who the candidate from their constituency was. All they wanted was to vote for PTI, solely & solely cause of Imran Khan. And we bagged 200+ seats only for this kutti govt to steal our mandate.
