The “criminal information” the Department of Justice filed on Oct. 5 against former FBI Director James Comey is legally flawed. The problem is not just that two sets of prosecutors in the Trump 1.0 Justice Department investigated this matter and declined to bring charges. The more immediate problem is that the Trump 2.0 Justice Department waited too long to bring the case.

We are facing a crisis of impunity. That's why we built The Rule of Law Project — to investigate unlawful conduct by federal officials, and work with state and local prosecutors to hold them to account.
Watch former DOJ prosecutor Mark Blumberg and human rights leader Brad Adams launch this critical accountability initiative on MSNOW with Nicolle Wallace.

To get a sense of the work that awaits Serbia, you have to understand that the former regime party still holds power in every single municipality in the country. It also retains control over a large chunk of the media and has loyal oligarchs, alongside parts of the judiciary, all of which are beyond the reach of the government. Then there are numerous state agencies and enterprises filled to the brim with incompetent cadres who were hired out of party loyalty. This will be one battle after another for a long time.

Details unclear
Brazil's wild election has just gotten a bit wilder. Flavio seems to have disappeared off the face of the Earth. One close ally told @Reuters his phone is going to voicemail. Argentina inspected a private jet that came in from Brazil, but found nothing

Grok says the best estimates show @elonmusk is responsible for at least 500,000 deaths so far and millions over the coming years due to his destruction of USAID.
Replying to @joshrogin
Reliable estimates vary by methodology and assumptions. A July 2025 Lancet study projected over 14 million excess deaths by 2030 (uncertainty 8.5-19.7 million), including 4.5 million children under 5, from an 83% USAID cut, based on historical mortality reductions. Center for Global Development analyses of 2025 spending put annual lives lost at 500,000-1.6 million. Boston University’s Impact Counter estimated 750,000-781,000 deaths in the first year. Actual totals remain uncertain due to disrupted data and other factors.

Since Trump’s election:
-Musk got $680 billion richer
-Musk became the 1st trillionaire
-SpaceX got $10 billion in federal contracts
-Tesla & SpaceX paid $0 in federal income taxes
Now, Musk’s spending $442 million to keep Republicans in control of Congress.
Gee, I wonder why?

BREAKING: Yemen’s Houthis have reportedly struck Saudi Arabia’s largest oil refinery at Ras Tanura with a ballistic missile, triggering a fire at one of the Kingdom’s most critical oil export hubs, per Bloomberg.
Ras Tanura is the cornerstone of Saudi oil exports, housing a refinery with a 550,000 barrel-per-day capacity and a terminal that handled over 5 million barrels daily before the war. With Yanbu on the Red Sea already hit, Saudi Arabia’s two main export arteries are now under fire.
It comes as Riyadh reportedly offered Yemen’s Houthis $1 billion through Iran to halt attacks on the Kingdom, but the Houthis struck the kingdom's most vital terminal anyway.

Why does Donald Trump so desperately want everyone to stop talking about the Files?
Our latest report traces explicit accounts involving 11 women who directly implicate him in Epstein’s crimes and network.
So, yes, stop talking about the Files if you want to protect the President from the truth.

Trump would be hard-put to engineer a more unpopular or more unsuccessful foreign policy if he tried. Republicans are likely to pay the price next week. Let us hope, for the sake of the entire world, that some of the Republicans who are left in office will be more willing to work with Democrats to rein in Trump’s terrible foreign-policy instincts. wapo.st/4zQY9Si
