An investigation by the @PHSOmbudsman
found maladministration and recommended compensation. @Keir_Starmer is misleading the public with his '90% of '50s women knew'. He is presenting the information dishonestly and the media are parroting this falsehood.

At last night's @WDCouncil meeting I raised the hypocrisy of Labour politicians cosying up to @WASPI_Campaign / @waspi2018WD during the UK General Election campaign. Fair play to @Labour_Douglas coming out very quickly calling for a review. Thank you on behalf of Lomond Ward residents who have been impacted.
This ridiculous decision needs looked at again. If it was determined I owed the Government money, I'm sure they'd demand I pay it even if it was a high price.
Every option for ensuring fair compensation must be explored, including payments spread over a number of years to minimise the single year impact on the Treasury.

The Ombudsman WASPI report acknowledges DWP failings.
But recommended compensation of £1000 - £2950 will be scant consolation for women who were plunged into poverty through no fault of their own.
As an MP I will push for the highest possible award.

Finding it emotionally draining to do a report on the attachment support needs of babies moved into care. If only people knew how incredibly easy it is to further traumatise babies removed from birth families.
We need so much more parent-infant relationship support in the U.K.
