“What’s your big beef with the Nazis?” Mel Brooks: “I don’t know… I think they’re rude.” Happy 100th to the king. Martin Short as Jiminy Glick vs. Mel Brooks still hits different.

October 25, 1986 ⚾️ "Little roller up along first..." NBC's Vin Scully calls the dramatic, unforgettable conclusion of Game 6 of the 1986 World Series. The Mets' Ray Knight scores on Mookie Wilson's roller that slips under the glove of Red Sox first baseman Bill Buckner.

This is funny
Family Guy recently made a Civil War version of "Who's on First" that had me crying laughing. It had no business being that good.

10/14/1969 In the first World Series at-bat by a Met at Shea Stadium, Tommie Agee homers off Jim Palmer. In the field, Agee makes two incredible catches to save five runs from crossing the plate as New York beats Baltimore 5-0.

This is one of the most brilliant routines in standup history. Gary Gulman is a genius.

Bob Uecker received the Hall of Fame's Ford C. Frick Award and gave his Cooperstown speech in 2003. The speech became famous for how funny it was, with Johnny Bench later calling it the greatest Hall of Fame speech. Uecker somehow turned a career honor into a comedy performance without making the honor feel smaller. That's a difficult balance, and he was uniquely built for it.

Always a pleasure to catch up with the great Doc Emrick, who's here in Detroit. Told him we're proud to call him a Pirates fan and sort of an honorary Yinzer. His response was typical Doc.

Mr. Rogers once said: "When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.'" @HowieRose is a helper. People like this exist everywhere. We should venerate them all.

Great school. Thank you for this, Fordham students.
At a loss for words on the 25th anniversary of 9/11. Then I watched nearly 200 @FordhamNYC students, many born years later, climb 2,200 stadium steps in honor of the ascent FDNY firefighters undertook that day. They showed up. They remembered. I have hope for this generation.

President Bush throws the first pitch of Game 3 of the 2001 World Series after 9/11 As silly as it sounds, it was important for him to throw a strike. No matter what you think of him, that was clutch/badass. Used the regulation rubber as well. Big time... 25 years later and I still think this is the greatest ceremonial first pitch ever
