Terry, LEO (Ret.)

A Prayer for the United States of America Saturday, November 7, 2026 Heavenly Father, we come to You to pray for our country. We need You. Too many of us have drifted away, and we want to come back. Help us get our families back around the table, back in Your Word, and back to being thankful for what we have. Let it start in each of our own hearts. Everything good in our lives came from You, and we want to say thank you. "Yet even now," declares the LORD, "Return to Me with all your heart, And with fasting, weeping and mourning." (Joel 2:12) Please give our President, Vice President, Congress, the Supreme Court justices, our governors, and every judge and elected official honesty and good sense. Help them do what is right even when it is hard, and help them listen to the people they serve. Put people around them who tell them the truth, and guide their decisions so they protect every person in this country. "It is He who changes the times and the epochs; He removes kings and establishes kings; He gives wisdom to wise men And knowledge to men of understanding." (Daniel 2:21) Jesus, You welcomed the children, healed the sick, and sat with the lonely. Help our marriages, and give parents patience and joy with their kids. Fill our churches with people who love each other and look out for their neighbors. Comfort the ones who are hurting. Take care of every family going through a hard time, with food, work, and a safe place to live. Let people see Your kindness in the way we treat each other. "Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins. Be hospitable to one another without complaint." (1 Peter 4:8–9) We pray for our armed forces, our police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and everyone who runs toward danger so the rest of us can be safe. Watch over them while they work and bring them home to their families. Give their loved ones peace and strength during the long days apart. "Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, 'Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?' Then I said, 'Here am I. Send me!'" (Isaiah 6:8) Holy Spirit, move through our cities and towns and open hearts to the gospel. Heal divisions between neighbors. Where there is anger, bring forgiveness, and bring us together around Your truth. Give us joy in believing and hope that stands through the hard times. "Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." (Romans 15:13) We put our country in Your hands. Thank You for Your goodness and for staying faithful to us even when we don't deserve it. Thank you for loving us first. Every blessing we have comes from You, and we give You the praise. "Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, indeed everything that is in heaven and earth." (1 Chronicles 29:11) In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen. - Prayer by @MarcZog767

A Prayer for the United States of America Saturday, October 31, 2026 Father, we come before You to pray for our United States. Help us remember who we are, why we are here, and the hope You’ve given us through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Give us the courage to live by Your Word and stand firmly for our faith. “for God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7 Father, we pray for our President, Vice President, Congress, governors, judges, and elected representatives at every level of government. Give them wisdom, integrity, and the courage to uphold what is right. May they seek Your guidance in the decisions that affect our nation and our lives. “Act wisely and do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you.” 1 Chronicles 28:20 Lord, remind us that we are Your children, saved by Your grace and called to shine as lights of your love on earth. Give us the strength to remain faithful when our beliefs are challenged. Let our actions reflect the love of Christ, and let our faith be stronger than our fear. “The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.” Romans 8:16–17 Most of all, we thank You for the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ. May we never take that sacrifice for granted. Strengthen our faith so deeply that nothing will ever make us turn away from You. May we live each day with the confidence that our hope rests in You and that our future is secure in Your hands. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16 Father, we ask that You heal our country, unite our hearts, and bring us back to Your truth. Protect our families, our churches, our communities, and the men and women who serve and defend us. Let Your light shine through us in a world that so desperately needs it. May we never grow weary of doing good, and may we always give You the glory for every blessing. We place our nation in Your hands, trusting in Your mercy, Your power, and Your perfect plan. In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen. -Prayer by @MarcZog767
