It’s not about flying cars or whether they’ll be road legal. In an age when AI dramatically reduces the cost of production, vision becomes the most valuable skill, and those brave enough to embrace bold ideas and resilient enough to get them executed will be the ones who win.
The world is changing, and the obvious gap is its current economic model, and the biggest illusion is to follow the same safe playbook of the past 50 years.
Let's meet in Lisbon! 🇵🇹 I'll be attending #FintechMeetupEurope at Feira Internacional de Lisboa from 6–8 October.
🤝 In Dubai around 22nd September? Let's meet up!
I'll be speaking about digital assets and RWA tokenization at the IFN Middle East Issuers & Investors Forum 2026 at Palazzo Versace Dubai.
We are pleased to welcome Eslam Anbar, CEO, Phi Wallet to the speaker line-up for the #IFNMiddleEastIssuersInvestorsForum2026 taking place in Palazzo Versace Dubai on 22nd September 2026.

I have been a fan of Steve Jobs’s product development strategy and how it influenced product release cycle at #Apple.
The case for the #iPhoneDuo is no different, 8 years late, but soon they’ll be named for the biggest market share in foldable phones!
This is not criticism of those who experiment and try early, that’s actually a very important driver, and more suited for startups. But you can’t redefine a category or shape an industry by just being the first.
This relates to us at @phiwallet, as we’re approaching significant releases in our product features, that wasn’t possible without a deep dive in what really benefits our users.
Being loud or quiet are two different strategies for developing and releasing products, we just love to be quiet during our development phase, before sharing our work publicly.
There’s a challenge though for quiet builders in the age of social media spotlight, it feels stressful to resist sharing everything online!
But one thing I learned the hard way, those obsessed with attention and personal branding are usually the least productive, and they’re not great team players.
The best builders I’ve met are almost always quiet during the building phase. But when they figure it out, the stage becomes all theirs.
France also did the same in 2025. @PhiWallet gold is already in Switzerland, digitally and physically accessible, and Sharia compliant.

Steve Jobs really pulled a reality distortion field to poach Tim Cook from Compaq (in 1998, it was worth $30B+ to Apple’s $3B).
All of Cook’s friends and advisors told him not to join almost-bankrupt Apple.
Cook says it took Jobs one meeting to convince him:
“I had gotten a call several times from the search people that [Jobs] had employed, and I kept saying no.
I was happy at Compaq — or thought I was — and they were persistent.
So, I finally thought, ‘you know, I’m going to go out and take the meeting. Steve created the whole industry that I’m in. I’d love the meeting.’ […]
All of a sudden, he’s talking about his strategy and his vision and what he was doing.
He was going 100% into consumer when everybody else in the industry had decided you couldn’t make any money in consumer. They were headed to servers and storage and the enterprise. […]
I always thought following the herd was a bad idea.
He showed me a bit of the design to get me interested [of what later would be called the iMac].
The way that he talked and the chemistry. I could tell I could work with him.
I looked at the problems Apple had and I thought ‘you know, I can make a contribution here’ and working with [Jobs would be] the privilege of a lifetime.
All of a sudden I thought, ‘I’m doing it. I’m going for it.’
You hear this voice in your ear that says, ‘Go west, young man, go west.’
[The move to Apple] didn’t make sense. And yet my gut said ‘go for it’ and I listened to my gut.
There was literally no one around me that was advising me to do it.”
In March 1998, Cook joined Apple as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Operations on a $400k base salary (and a $500k signing bonus).
He was 37. Incredible gut call.

NEW: Tim Cook sends a final memo to Apple employees on his last day as CEO. “I will miss this work in ways I can only begin to imagine, even as I remain completely at peace with my decision,” he says, adding he has “enormous comfort” with Ternus in charge. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

Our CEO, @efarid shares personal anecdote with sheikh @NavaidAziz. Eslam's sentiment is that physical #gold shouldn’t be reserved for those who can afford large bars, coins, or exorbitant markups.
#Phiwallet makes it simple to buy and own real, physical gold in the amount that works for you. We're bringing an #asset that has preserved #wealth for generations into the digital age, and for everyone.
10 years ago, I built my first Ethereum rig and spent the next few days tuning the clock speed and memory of the GPUs to get the optimum hash rate at a manageable temperature.
I didn't know then that my technical curiosity would reshape my next startup, but I believe there are no accidents.
Over the following two years, I scaled my tiny rig into a small cluster, telling everyone that blockchain would transform the financial world. I just wasn't sure exactly how, so I kept building rigs anyway!
COVID was another turning point. Stationed in Malaysia at the time, working on my payments MVP, I was troubled to see people panic over their finances and fight over groceries and, in some countries, even toilet paper.
It occurred to me that building wealth isn't just about luxury, and that people's behavior is heavily shaped by their sense of financial security.
So I decided to build something people already wanted, not invent a need for it.
And almost everyone around me in Malaysia at the time was buying gold, or looking for a way to buy it, as a natural response to inflation.
What happened next was simply @phiwallet
We put RWA tokenization to work as the first building block in wealth creation.
Today, we're taking it further by pursuing the first MiCA ART license for tokenized gold, in preparation for launching our gold token at scale.

We’ve decided to open-source a multi-agent harness we use internally at YC.
We call it “QM” and it’s meant to be easy to customize, like Hermes or OpenClaw, but useful for a whole company. We use it across accounting, legal, events, and engineering (including building QM itself!).
The whole project is under an MIT license. It is cloud-first and has Slack and web UI natively.

Same trophy. Same gold. Massive price explosion. 🏆✨
The iconic FIFA World Cup trophy is crafted from around 5kg of 18-karat gold.
The value of this gold has surged from around $25,000 in 2006 to over $713,000 today!
Gold remains the ultimate store of value, no matter the era.

Gold has been a store of value for thousands of years. Accessing it still means paperwork, intermediaries, and institutions you have to trust blindly.
@PhiWallet is changing that. Built on #XRPL, it lets anyone turn their phone into a private gold vault — LBMA-certified physical gold, stored in world-class vaults, bought or sold in seconds.
On June 4, we're sitting down with the Phi Wallet team @efarid in Lisbon to hear where the product stands today and what's next.
If you're building in fintech or DeFi in Portugal, this is your room.

This is crazy. The hacker installed a dead-man's switch that will wipe your computer if you revoke the GitHub token they stole from you. Revoking the token is what triggers the wipe.
SECURITY ADVISORY — TanStack npm packages
A supply-chain compromise affecting 42 @tanstack/* packages (84 versions total) was published to npm earlier today at approximately 19:20 and 19:26 UTC. Two malicious versions per package.
Status: ACTIVE — packages are deprecated, npm security engaged, publish path being shut down.
Severity: HIGH — payload exfiltrates AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, and Vault credentials, GitHub tokens, .npmrc contents, and SSH keys.
If you installed any @tanstack/* package between 19:20 and 19:30 UTC today, treat the host as potentially compromised:
• Rotate cloud, GitHub, and SSH credentials immediately
• Audit cloud audit logs for the last several hours
• Pin to a prior known-good version and reinstall from a clean lockfile
Detection — the malicious manifest contains:
"optionalDependencies": {
"@tanstack/setup": "github:tanstack/router#79ac49ee..."
}
Any version with this entry is compromised. The payload is delivered via a git-resolved optionalDependency whose prepare script runs router_init.js (~2.3 MB, smuggled into each tarball at the package root).
Unpublish is blocked by npm policy for most affected packages due to existing third-party dependents. All 84 versions are being deprecated with a SECURITY warning, and npm security has been engaged to pull tarballs at the registry level.
Full technical breakdown, complete package and version list, and rolling status updates:

Over 160 years ago, thousands of prospectors flooded into British Columbia chasing gold along the Fraser River, a rush so powerful it literally built this province into a crown colony overnight.
This week, I’m back in Vancouver at Web Summit, not with a pickaxe, but with @PhiWallet app.
Because the gold rush never really ended. It just went digital. And this time, everyone gets a piece. ⛏️📱

We started seeing a surge in signups at @PhiWallet , following the news of #Revolut discontinuing their commodities offering across multiple European countries with only 60 days' notice.
Revolut has offered no clarification, and many participants in the commodities paper market (#oil, #gold, etc.,) are concerned about the widening gap between paper market pricing and actual physical delivery prices.
This is one of the safeguards we have in place at Phi Wallet, we deal exclusively in physical gold, strictly adhering to Shariah compliance in all physical gold allocation.
#Gold is also not a secondary offering for us the way it is for banks. We believe gold is the safety valve of the economy, and we're building a safer, future-proof, and halal ecosystem around it.
