Many left wing Brazilians recently began tweeting about how they wanted to emulate China as a ‘successful left wing country’. IE they wanted to copy Chinese policies to ‘fix’ Brazil but left-ishly. Chinese users soon pointed out many Chinese policies are to the right of Bolsonaro
Many Lula supporters say they want Brazil to adopt China's economic model. To achieve that, Brazil would need to cut social spending and pensions by 50% and cut government spending by 30%. It would need someone much more right-wing than Bolsonaro on economics.

Palmer Luckey says analysts claiming it's too expensive to manufacture in the US are lying to protect megacorps "I think I have a more realistic view than almost anybody. One of the problems with all these analysts that are telling you that it's going to cost $37,000 to build an American iPhone or $100,000 to buy an American computer." "They're trying to prop up a status quo that the megacorporations want to keep going. They want to outsource everything. They want to hire cheaper non-American labor." "They are willing to say and do anything to convince you that it can't be fixed, that it can't come back, that America is this helpless, neutered, post-relevant empire, and it is just not the case." "How do I know that? Because I have to make stuff in America every day because I work in the defense industry. The stuff that Anduril makes every day is not actually that different from a computer. My drones are basically computers. They have memory, a GPU, a CPU, sensors, batteries, a rugged integration." "The only difference between an Anduril attack drone and a laptop is a keyboard and a screen. That is not that hard to figure out, especially for a guy like me who started Oculus and comes from the consumer electronics space." "We're not going to let people lie about what America can and can't do anymore. We're just going to do it."

Remember that insane asylums were deemed inhumane, as opposed to letting crazy people openly die on the sidewalk in front of children, which is fine
There’s hundreds of young kids that live in Tenderloin. These kids see dead bodies practically every day and it’s not blurred when they see it. So if they see it and they stomach it I’m quite sure y’all adults who’s asking me to blur it out can stomach it too…

Just a tip for the YNs out there, any time you find yourself *for any reason* typing up a wall of text to send a woman just delete it and set down your phone and walk away and give yourself the gift of having one less cringe moment to regret back on in five years
Follow-up to prior tweet. She responded to my friend this morning and he sent her one final text. Unfortunate with how things turned out but if she’s not genuinely attracted, what else can he do?

A Chinese state-backed firm looks to build mining operations in the Canadian Arctic that will function as dual-use infrastructure to spy on NORAD’s Arctic operations. Rather than eliminate the threat, the Canadian gov't is considering building a road for the ChiComm mine.
A Chinese-owned mine in Canada's far north is too remote to use. But plans to build a new road connecting the mine to a shipping port are proving controversial. @peiyue_jess reports on Canada's Arctic security balancing act: buff.ly/PcKRKTj

“The US should intentionally cripple its space capabilities and try to bankrupt its leading launch company on purpose”
Because of Musk’s class B shares which give him 80% voting power, the board can’t do much. It will fall to the next Dem POTUS to revoke Musk’s security clearance (day one), and use the DoD, EPA, FCC and FAA to cripple SpaceX operations until he leaves of his own accord.

LA county bravely rebuts allegations of foreign nationals on voter rolls by stating only 62% aren't citizens
NEW: LA County says a sample of the Trump admin's 200 names of suspected non-citizen voters showed that 38.9% attested to being born in the US. But in a new sworn statement under penalty of perjury, a DHS official says its investigation shows NONE of LA County's 200 names were born in the US.   "After a thorough review of the immigration records of all the individuals on the County's Sample List, it was determined that none of the individuals USCIS matched to the County's Sample List were born in the United States according to USCIS records," -Nicolas Bartell, Associate Director of Fraud Detection at USCIS.

Once you interface with people from the 3rd world you realize nothing we could give them would ever help
My uncle did a mission trip to Africa to teach a village how to raise pigs for food. They flew in with a bunch of pigs, built pens for them, Food and water troughs, and taught them how to breed them so they could always have meat. Two weeks of work and teaching. They went back a year later to check on the village. They had thrown a giant party the night after my uncle left, slaughtered and ate all the pigs, sold the feeders and fencing, and were really pissed off that the mission didn't bring them more pigs.

Understand how the narrative works. Ahead of Brazil’s election, they were gearing up to blame Meta if Lula lost. Now that he’s been declared the winner, we’re hearing about the brilliant use of WhatsApp (Meta) that helped deliver his victory. When Obama won in 2012, they celebrated his shrewd use of Facebook, voter data and microtargeting. When Brexit happened and Trump won in 2016, we got the Cambridge Analytica moral panic. When the left wins, it’s brilliant digital campaigning. When the right wins, it’s social media manipulation undermining democracy.

American glass. American metal. American silicon. American batteries. American workers. American everything. BlueChip is the first American computer in decades. Don't let anyone lie to you and say it can't be done. Designed in California. Built in America.
BlueChip. Built in America. America made the first electronic computer to win a war. Now we depend on our greatest adversaries to build the computers that run our economy and defend our nation. Today, we bring it home.

Carneyist middle powerism was always designed to be a tactical retreat disguised as bold policy: the dream of a liberal regional order. But the task will fail on essentially ontological grounds - “middle power” is a category from nowhere, encapsulating no coherent set of nations
The EU was split today over whether to offer “associate membership” status to Canada, with several countries refusing to sign off on a statement containing that phrase just 48 hours before a summit between the two sides in Montreal. vist.ly/5q6qw

People don’t really understand that when Lula stole trillions, it wasn’t to eat caviar, it was to put it in the global communism finances. If you think the commies who flood Europe with migrants and Lula are not related, you’re naive. It’s an international movement
Lula is pro-Mercusor so as a European I have no real reason to support Bolsonaro (who could possibly cancel it for a deal with the US), no matter how much of a BRICS simp he is.

The Chinese economy will never overtake the United States.
China’s long-predicted overtaking of the US economy keeps getting delayed. According to the latest Oxford Economics forecasts charted by the Financial Times, China’s nominal (USD) GDP peaked at ~77% of the US in 2021 and has since fallen to roughly 64-67%. The same forecast now shows it reaching only about 84% of US GDP by 2040, still short of parity. This relative decline reflects real structural headwinds: a prolonged property-sector slump, high local-government debt, rapid workforce aging, and yuan depreciation. Meanwhile, the US has benefited from stronger post-COVID performance, more favorable demographics, and AI-related productivity gains. Earlier forecasts that once expected China to surpass the US this decade have been repeatedly revised later. The “inevitable and imminent” narrative has faded, not because China stopped growing, but because catch-up in dollar terms has proven slower and less certain than once assumed.
