New analysis: The government has made welcome promises on building council homes - but current funding plans look like they'll fall short.
The chancellor needs to commit an extra £7bn (on top of the £1.5bn announced at the budget), if their ambitions are to get back on track.

NEW: The chancellor missed an opportunity to bring down inflation in the budget.
Our analysis found that more ambitious cost of living measures could have quadrupled the impact of government inflation reduction.
