It’s sad that you can’t even have platonic friendships with a lot of Nigerian girls anymore without them trying to bill the hell out of you.

As a parent, what will be your action if your child refuses to come home from school during holidays? A young girl of 21years just di£d in my town this last weekend. Apparently, she didn't come home even during school vacation, unknown to her parents, it was because she was pregnant. On Saturday night, her boyfriend texted the girl's father that she was in labour, after few hours he texted again that she was in coma. By Sunday morning he texted again that she has passed away. Her aunty went to the hospital where she di£d to see her, suddenly the boyfriend was nowhere to be found. He ran away with the baby and has not been found.

PLEASE, WHAT HAPPENED TO A NORMAL INTRODUCTION? 😭😂 A guy asked for my number, then sent me a whole video showing off cars just to introduce himself. Omo, I deleted the number. Abeg, I gave you my number, not an application for a car loan. 😭😂

Away from all the online bitterness about marriage, I want my wife and me to never venture into anything without informing each other. Not because we need permission, but because I want us to be fully involved in each other’s lives.

“Why does your DNA test say you have a sister in another country?” My husband, Daniel, asked me that question while holding his phone. His face looked as though he had just discovered a stranger sleeping in our house. We live in Toronto, Canada. We have been married for eleven years, and we have two children. I was born in Ghana, while Daniel grew up in Canada. The DNA test was supposed to be a birthday gift for my mother, who lives in Accra. Instead, I ordered kits for myself and my siblings because we had always been curious about our family history. Three weeks later, I received a notification. “You have a close family match: 49.8% shared DNA.” The woman’s name was Amara Mensah. She was twenty-nine, lived in London, and had uploaded her DNA results just four days earlier. I messaged her. “Hi, our DNA results suggest we may be half-sisters. Do you know anything about this?” She replied almost immediately. “I’ve been looking for my biological father for six years. My mother told me his name was Kofi. She said he was Ghanaian and moved to Canada before I was born.” My father’s name was Kofi. I called her that evening, my hands shaking. “Who raised you?” I asked. “My mother, Evelyn. She died two years ago. Before she died, she gave me a photograph of my father.” “Can you send it to me?” A few minutes later, the picture arrived. I stared at it until my eyes filled with tears. It was my father, standing beside a young white woman in front of a house I had never seen before. Daniel sat beside me. “Is that your father?” “Yes,” I whispered. “But your father has been married to your mother for thirty-five years.” I zoomed in on the photograph. On my father’s wrist was the gold watch my mother had given him on their wedding day. Then Amara sent another message. “There’s something else you need to know. My mother said my father knew I existed. She said he promised to come back for me.” I called my mother in Ghana. When I told her about the DNA results, she went completely silent. Then she asked a question that made my stomach turn. “Did the girl tell you what year she was born?” “Yes. Twenty-nine years ago.” My mother began to cry. “Please,” she whispered. “Do not let your father find out that you know.” But my father had been dead for six years. And suddenly, I realized that the man we had buried might have left behind a secret capable of destroying everything we believed about our family.
