KAS itself isn't a KCC-20 token. So every app built for KCC-20 tokens needs extra custom code just to handle plain KAS.
Why should builders have to do that?
Manyfest @manyfest_ has proposed a fix called KAS20. The idea is simple. You lock KAS and get the same amount of KAS20. You burn KAS20 and get your KAS back. That's it. One KAS20 is always backed by exactly one KAS.
And it's not like WETH on Ethereum, where all the ETH sits in one contract. With KAS20 every coin holds its own KAS. No shared vault, no one holding your KAS for you. But it's only a proposal for now. The code is still waiting for review, it's not on testnet and nobody has audited it.
So if you see a token called KAS20 today, it's just a name. Check the covenant ID properly. Full article here👇

Today we are introducing KaspaDollar, an initiative led by core developer @asaefstroem to build the first decentralized stablecoin on the $KAS network.
The developments around @kccforum and the Toccata hardfork have considerably widened what Kaspa is capable of. Capability alone, however, does not make an ecosystem. Decentralized finance requires a unit of account that holds its value, and until Kaspa has a stablecoin of its own, every application built on it will remain dependent on assets issued elsewhere.
The design we intend to follow is the decentralized, overcollateralized stablecoin: a pattern whose security properties have been examined and tested across the industry for the better part of a decade. With the support of the core team, we consider the conditions right to bring it to Kaspa.
Realizing this requires development, an independent audit, further research, and the operational work of taking a protocol from specification to production. To fund it, we are opening a fundraiser with a target of 5,000,000 KAS.
Contributions are made directly to the fundraising address published on the website. Should the target not be reached by 1 January 2027, every contribution will be returned to the address from which it was sent.
Up until that point, this account will share the plans, details and progress of the work as it develops.

Entity X, Kaspa largest known holder, continues accumulating KAS.
Two new transfers totaling 8.11 million KAS have arrived from Kraken and Gate .io, bringing the wallet's balance to 1.54 billion KAS, worth approximately $58.2 million.
The latest inflows extend the recent accumulation trend, with Entity X steadily increasing its holdings throughout October.
This is a really important milestone because it allows developers to finally start building "composable" apps.
KCC means "Kaspa Calls for Conventions" and it is an effort to define standards that can be shared across the ecosystem.
For apps to be composable, it is not enough that they can call each others functions and observe the results, but they also need to be able to "understand" the data they see.
Instead of having each app manually implement the "proprietary language" of all the other apps, these KCC's establish a "common language" that is understood by everybody.
So while this doesn't introduce new "on-chain" features, it enables developers to write apps that can be composed without the apps having to know about each other.
There will of course be additional standards in the future but these three are arguably the most important ones because they cover the foundations and how tokens / assets are modeled (which is essential for DeFi and anything related to decentralized governance).
Kaspa is growing up so fast! 😱
PS: If you are building on Kaspa, please drop me a DM - I would love to hear about your project!
Greetings $KAS. KCC-1, KCC-2 and KCC-20 are now Final, meaning they are ready for full adoption across the ecosystem.
We invite Kaspa builders to join the public KCC channel to ask questions, get support, discuss implementations and share what you build.

🎉 The L1 KCC20 token standard on $KAS was just merged, advancing it from "Last Call" to "Final".
No new node release is needed, just wallets integration.
Let's get into it @KastleWallet @KasWare_Wallet @KasanovaWallet 🔥

⚡ Kaspa $KAS just took a big step toward quantum resistance with KIP 22 by @OriNewman, keeping public keys hidden until spent.
Optional privacy is also making big strides thanks to @WellerOlaf's initiative.
The KCC20 L1 token standard is around the corner.
The real endgame!
Kii is giving a keynote at the ETIM Forum 2026 in Torremolinos, Spain on 28 October.
We will show KiiWORKS: digital product passports for industry, built from the ETIM data manufacturers already publish and verifiable by anyone on Kaspa.

I like! This is a really simple and inexpensive way to significantly reduce the quantum threat to Kaspa users.
Traditional addresses expose the public key controlling the funds. A sufficiently powerful quantum computer could derive the private key from that public key and steal the funds.
KIP-22 proposes a simple change: instead of exposing the public key, an address commits to a cryptographic hash (a fingerprint) of the spending conditions. The public key stays hidden, and unlike elliptic-curve cryptography, strong cryptographic hashes remain highly resistant to quantum attacks.
Only when we spend the funds do we reveal the necessary information for the network to verify the transaction.
There is still a theoretical attack vector where an attacker could intercept a spending transaction, derive the private key, and attempt to front-run the original transaction. But since PoW relies on hashing, which is far more resistant to quantum attacks, the network should remain operational and continue confirming transactions, leaving an attacker with only a very narrow window to act.
Exploiting this would require not just a quantum computer capable of breaking public-key cryptography, but one powerful enough to do this faster than the network converges. On Kaspa, that means just a few seconds. That's a much stronger "theoretical adversary," and it's unclear whether such a machine will ever exist.
Personally, I doubt quantum computers will ever be able to break public-key cryptography at realistic key sizes (I suspect that Hilbert space itself is discrete and has a much coarser resolution than commonly assumed, but that's a different topic).
So TL;DR: KIP-22 isn't a "complete" post-quantum solution, but it's an elegant, relatively low-cost way to significantly reduce the attack surface for quantum adversaries.

Kaspa Privacy Initiative — From ZK Proofs to Real KAS Payments! 💚🚀
This is getting really exciting!
Just days ago, we celebrated generating our first complete zero-knowledge execution proof using a rented GPU.
Now we've taken the next step.
We've successfully completed a full private payment test on Kaspa TN10!
And this time, real test-KAS moved on-chain.
✅ Alice started with 10 private test-KAS
✅ She privately sent 4 KAS to Bob, keeping 6 in change
✅ Four ZK proofs generated on GPU and independently verified
✅ All four TN10 settlements accepted
✅ Bob actually received 4 test-KAS!
We also confirmed that invalid payments and attempts to spend funds twice are rejected.
We're moving beyond proving individual components to making them work together on Kaspa.
And that's pretty exciting! 👇
