In a weird way, everybody is rooting for you. When you go to a job interview, the interviewer wants you to be amazing so they don’t have to look anymore. when you go on a date, the person wants to have an amazing date with you. If you make a piece of content, people want to see amazing pieces of content and they have no problem if it’s yours.
the instant you get into the mindset that people want you to do well, your entire world gets better. And you’ll be shocked to know this pattern keeps repeating in different areas of life.

A beautiful idea. Haunting. "I've kept more promises than I made" is pure poetry. But no one is going to enjoy that, no one treasures it, so he's forced to keep talking about how some 55 year old senator has a super tight and fuckable ass.

This is an incredible accomplishment by India. Absolutely world-changing.
India saw about 496 million people lifted out of poverty between 2011 and 2023 in one of the world’s fastest declines in this metric, the World Bank said, although the gains remain uneven. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

US road rage killer's sentence quashed because AI video of victim was shown in court bbc.in/4rGHDS4
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The sentence was thrown out because an appeals judge ruled that the video should not have been shown in the original trial. BBC misleadingly implies that the sentence was quashed because of the persuasive impact of the video itself.

Having an Onion nostalgia trip today. Hard for the youngins to understand how a satirical newspaper captured the zeitgeist so well in the early aughts. I’d almost forgotten this banger: a 9/11 conspiracy theorist squares off against Al Qaeda.

I love this video because the visual concept is awesome, the choreography is brilliant, the instrumentals and the backing vocals are incredible, and it's all ruined by one of the worst singing voices I've ever heard

Pure cinema; the brilliance of the editing here should be studied in film school.
It's an incredible cut, I would never have noticed if it wasn't pointed out.
Here's another example from an ad that is 30 years old now and still blows my mind - keep an eye on the location, the jumps are quite.. spectacular.😂
