Canada in a nutshell. Thanks to the ever eloquent @alexbrown17
It’s morning in Canada.
A mother steps on a government needle at her child’s playground.
15 Conestoga 'students' in a dimly lit Brampton basement wait their turn to use a single bathroom.
A little old lady on a fixed pension in the sticks opens the mail to a $300 carbon levy for heating her home.
A young man on a subway spots a violent schizophrenic hassling disassociated commuters. There are no police to be found. He wonders if he steps in, will he be shamed? Will he go viral?
A commuting family of four, on a debilitating variable rate mortgage for their 900 sq. foot semi that cost $950,000, wakes up to another car stolen.
A janitor at a Hebrew school scrubs "from the river to the sea" off the front windows for the third time this semester.
Mark Gerretsen hits send on a tweet that totally owns Pierre for using a similar adjective as Donald Trump. His constituents don’t see it, because they’re living real lives. A few of them wait 16 hours in the hospital for supposedly urgent care.
The rest of the Liberals, and many 'Red Tory’s,' continue to respond with the same old 2015 playbook, failing to realize the tipping point has already happened. There’s no going back to luxury beliefs when it’s this bad.
It’s actually broken.
Destroy them accordingly. Take back what you can.

For a number of years I was Chair of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada’s Orthopaedic Test Committee. During that period I also chaired the UBC program for training young orthopaedic surgeons in BC. Over a 4 year period only 5 of 16 successful graduates remained in BC because they were unable to get hospital positions and OR time.

I remember when @BlueRodeo wrote an anti-Harper song because under his tenure food bank usage went from 750,000 to 850,000.
Since the current brand of liberals took power it has gone up by 1.4 million MORE per month to 2.3 million.
Where is your song @BlueRodeo ?

JK Rowling has just written a beautiful essay that I will link to below. This paragraph holds no punches:
“Large numbers of women who’ve never been poor, who’ve never worked the kind of job where they’d be vulnerable to predatory men and who’ve never needed a r*pe crisis centre have spent the last few years vilifying members of their own sex for fighting to retain their hard-won rights and single-sex spaces, in ways that have shocked and disgusted me. I freely confess that I feel an extra layer of abhorrence for any woman who claims to be a feminist while doing it.”

The 3 monsters tortured this couple. Then they crushed her skull and slit her throat. (To spare the family, I will skip other details.) Then they wrapped her husband’s face in duct tape, slowly asphyxiating him while they laughed. If you like liberal judges, vote Liberal.

Every week, Canada yields some news story that seems like it could only exist in a dystopian novel written by William F. Buckley. This week: A university scolding students to be more tolerant of the giant, rapist murderer they're forced to attend classes with.
Years ago, Jeffrey George Ewert raped and killed a young woman and beat a girl into a paralyzed, vegetative state. Now he's trying to pursue the privilege of a legal education at McGill, in proximity to the many young women who attend campus. It should be out of the question.
Instead of calling out the hazard, the law students' association accused the university of not providing adequate support to a formerly incarcerated student and asked for a "circle discussion led by an Elder" to help students process "recent events." A student-alumni petition urges that Ewert return to campus.
Everyone here seems to be forgetting that a key part of preserving the legitimacy of our justice institutions involves keeping out society's worst criminals (such as rapists and murderers).

WOW!
49.9% of the clients of Canadian charity food banks are visible minorities
but they only make up 26.5% of the population of Canada, as per the 2021 census.
Similarly, 30% of food bank clients are new immigrants, and they only make up 8% of the population.
We have a PROBLEM HERE!

Fiercely opposing immigration, promising the biggest crime crackdown in Canadian history, and pledging to scrap income tax on income under $100,000 is how Pierre Poilievre can beat Mark Carney.

In Canada, you can randomly kill a CBC journalist, and get out of prison to do more crime in just 1.5 years.
This is bullshit. Our criminal justice system is completely broken.
The Liberals who broke it aren’t going to fix it.

If Canada is the best, why did Carney live abroad until two years ago?
Why does he have three passports?
Why did he move his company, Brookfield, from Toronto to New York?
Why does all of his family live in the U.S.?
Why doe he want to join China's new world order?

Bob, I say this with respect. Somewhere along the way you lost the plot.
Come downtown with me. Any day. Ride the TTC, take a walk down Queen West, the street that used to be the coolest strip in the country and now looks like a plywood showroom.
Then look me in the eye and tell me Toronto's on the right track.
I'm not angry, I'm disappointed. You've lived here for decades. You know what this city used to feel like.
Right now 35% of Torontonians don't feel safe walking their own neighbourhood after dark. Subway delays are up more than 50% since 2019, and "disorderly behaviour" is one of the top reasons.
Even after the numbers came down, the city's own count found more than 12,000 people experiencing homelessness last fall.
And on Queen West, shops that were there for decades are gone, and the boarded-up windows are what's left.
These aren't talking points. This is people's everyday. So I'm asking for real: get on the subway, walk those blocks, and tell me what you see. Toronto deserves better, and so do the people who live here.

Let's be clear, Bob Rae was a disaster when he ran Ontario.
After that, he worked with and supported the Trudeau government which was a disaster for Canada.
Now, he's endorsing Olivia Chow.
Choose wisely Toronto.

Canada keeps telling us we have a shortage of nurses.
Yet here's a newly graduated RN who says they've applied to hundreds of jobs across Ontario, including hospitals and long-term care, and still can't find stable employment.
$50,000+ in debt. $300 left to their name. Now considering driving to Vancouver and living out of their car just to find work.
We tell young Canadians to get educated, work hard and enter professions we desperately need.
