Good afternoon from the floor of the Indiana Senate, where the Republican supermajority is set to begin debate on the GOP redistricting plan.

Anti-redistricting protests have dwarfed the two pro-redistricting rallies at the Indiana Statehouse, including one organized by TPUSA last week. Here’s the scene in the halls outside the Senate today, ahead of a committee meeting on the new map.

Vance has been kept away from press on this trip. I shouted a couple questions at him on his way past reporters’ shacks, through tunnels into the governor’s office, but he didn’t answer.

Good morning from the Indiana Statehouse. Vice President JD Vance is here — he ignored my questions about redistricting on his way into a meeting with Gov. Mike Braun and GOP legislative leaders. Democrats are rallying today on the same floor as Braun’s office.

It’s not the biggest thing but one for me is his lead wrist here. As somebody who delivers too little dynamic loft, and has heard coaching about how you’re supposed to keep that lead arm/wrist straight … it’s a reminder that at some point you have to just let it go.

I was 9 years old, in the stands on this dreary, rainy day. Still remember what a bummer the whole thing was.

But I think this one is more in the spirit of the podcast. I’ve got 27 grams of lead tape on the sole. It comes out from time to time when I’m putting poorly and want to change things up.
