this is a fantastic resource from the brilliant @jasonfurman. fast and clear explanations of latest economic data and trends.
I'm thrilled to be launching Econvitals today. It's been the main way in which I have been tracking and understanding the economy over the last several months. And I decided I might as well share it with all of you--for free. Has a combo of website, email lists & social media.

"Early in-person voting among Black Georgians is up 33% compared with the first nine days of voting in 2022, while turnout among voters under 30 has jumped 54%. Among young Black voters, the increase is an eye-popping 80%.” via @bluestein ajc.com/politics/2026/10/dem…

The Rebellion PAC ad invokes harmful antisemitic stereotypes and misinformation. US aid to Israel is not the reason for high prices at the grocery store. High prices have been caused by Donald Trump’s chaos and corruption. The American people get that; anyone participating in our political process should too.
This is a divisive stunt that trades on age-old themes of antisemitism. It blames Israel for all the ills in America. Serious people, who want to win in Michigan, are focused on lowering costs and ending President Trump's corruption.

A great read. Marshall’s own local loan officer won’t even vote for him.
NEW: I spent 3 days last week in Roger Marshall's longtime home of Great Bend. I talked to women whose babies he delivered, people who've known him 30 years, Dems, Republicans, a guy Marshall once tried to talk into buying a bird dog from his litter. (cont'd)

“Just because you personally don’t live every biblically based value doesn’t mean you won’t fight for it when it comes to a political stance,” Landon Schott, the senior pastor of Mercy Culture, a Fort Worth megachurch, said in a video of support for Mr. Paxton."
Texas AG Ken Paxton's wife is divorcing him, citing infidelity. But during one of the most watched races of the midterm elections, little has been reported publicly about the new woman at the center of his life. I sought to learn more about her. nytimes.com/2026/10/27/us/ke… #txlege

it's not El-Sayed's ad
I'm flabbergasted by this one, honestly. Setting aside completely the merits of the distinction between "anti-semitic" and "anti-Israel," how could this possibly be what he wants to talk about a week before the election? Who gets convinced to vote for him by this one?

What a stupid and clumsy ad. This is a gift to Mike Rogers. This is what happens when noisy amateurs to dress up and cosplay political consultant.
New @RebellionPac ad dropping in Michigan. We have to suffer here at home, so Israel can get all its wars. That’s why they buy politicians like Mike Rogers. He promised to serve Israel “unconditionally,” but never made that promise to you.

CBS deleted this post and reposted it admitting that their original one was misleading. And the misleading post from CBS was intentionally misleading, not an innocent mistake. CBS continues to lose credibility.

Bari Weiss CBS working hand in glove with Rubio's obviously political pre-mid term call for a CIA coup in Cuba by ignoring what Angie Nixon actually said. You can think its a dictatorship while also thinking its wrong to starve and kill Cubans with a US blockade.

Here's a screenshot of the original post, which @AngieNixon said misrepresented what she said in the clip:
Florida Democratic Senate candidate Angie Nixon, who is challenging Republican Sen. Ashley Moody, was asked whether Cuba is a dictatorship. Here's what she had to say. “That is what people have told me. I have never been to Cuba, and so I will have to take their word for it," Nixon told CBS News’ @cbenavidesTV. Nixon also criticized the decades-long U.S. embargo on Cuba and said she supports returning to Obama-era policies. Editor's note: A previous version of this post did not accurately portray Rep. Nixon‘s answer. It has been deleted.

CBS deleting another tweet - this time after getting called out by a candidate directly. That company is going off the rails
It’s disappointing to have to say this, but @CBSNews, this is a serious failure of editorial reporting. I clearly state in this clip that while I have not personally been to Cuba, I have spoken with Cubans who have described it as a dictatorship, and I believe them. To claim I declined to answer the question is categorically false. That is not journalism. It is misinformation.

This is wrong. I'm in a blue collar diner in Ohio, and every lifelong Democrat there says the Obama joke was so offensive that they're all voting straight R and naming their firstborns "Vivek."
Obama made an in-joke that only lands with those of us who have been to a Cheesecake Factory, since it requires insider Cheesecake Factory knowledge to be funny. Elites not understanding it and acting outraged on our behalf makes it even funnier.

El-Sayed campaign statement: "This ad is not affiliated in any way with the Abdul for Senate campaign. Abdul is focused on pushing back against Trump’s agenda that is raising prices for Michiganders. No one speaks for Abdul but himself and his campaign." #MISEN
This type of fearmongering about Israel is wrong. It is not a winning strategy for any state. It does nothing to help Michigan Democrats win up and down the ballot in eight days. Do we need to lower costs by building more homes, securing people’s health care, and creating a fairer federal tax code? Yes, we do!! How we do so is not by blaming the high costs of our goods on the only Jewish homeland in the world. I want to see Democrats succeed at every level, and that means keeping our focus on lowering costs for Michigan families and reining in this out-of-control President.

In what world is “hundreds of thousands” not “350,000 to 580,000”? This has always been the problem with “fact checking” — it is simply not equipped, nor did it adapt, to a post 2016 world.
Rallying in Cleveland for Democratic candidates, Barack Obama said Jon Husted "voted to kick hundreds of thousands of Ohioans off Medicaid." This is largely accurate. PolitiFact previously fact-checked an ad by Brown that said Husted voted “to kick 490,000 Ohioans off their healthcare,” rating it Half True. Obama’s version was less specific and therefore more accurate. The health care think tank KFF has estimated that 350,000 to 580,000 Ohioans could lose coverage. A more recent study by RAND found results broadly in line with KFF. buff.ly/LwkU5Db
