a good idea of what your hourly rate should be is to look up the median income for your area (monthly), then divide that by how many hours you can reasonably work in a month; still x2 it like the OG post says because you need to hold back for business expenses and taxes
For those artists who dont know how to price their work, and need a starter guide.
First, decide on your hourly rate (how much is your time worth), then multiple it by the hours u will need for an artwork, add in a few hours for possible edits.
Then multiple it x1.5 - x2, as in our line of work, we don't get sick not paid leave, the extra income is for the buffers. Also we provide our equipment + electricity + tools, these are all invisible cost that would had been provided for in a full time job.
So there u have it, a very basic starter guide. Of course it will get more complex with use rights etc. But one step at a time right?

in fact it looks more and more likely that ao3 [.] life was behind the ao3 breech, considering they have uploaded long-deleted fics and, critically, people's DRAFTS

men can use commercial flights to kill themselves AND the passengers but god forbid a woman cries out as she’s falling out of the sky very aware of the fact that she’s going to die in less than a minute then all of a sudden women shouldn’t be pilots.

AO3 goes down for a month due to a security incident (THEIR WORDS) and now we’ve got a random website asking for your ao3 email? Guys. Let’s use that one collective brain cell to connect the dots PLEASE.

LMAO If you want low-budget prices, go to artists within your budget. There are PLENTY of beginner artists who would love to have their first commissions!
But ya'll dont want to do that, you want the 15 years experience painted illustration for $20

падіння ао3 не страшне для тих, хто володіє древніми техніками (ходити по кімнаті в навушниках три години і уявляти фейкові сценарії)
