DevDay Wants:
Faster, cheaper, and smarter models
DevDay gets:
Cheaper slower models and a scrum master named Dot
OpenAI’s shift to Dot is reminiscent of twitter moving off the firehouse and Facebook locking down their Graph API.
More wall, more meters, maybe EBIDTA?
GPT-6 Sol Max is excellent value. Materially better for my tasks than x-high and usage is a fraction of Astra.
OpenAI UNO reverse release day.
Less intelligent model to use than the one you were using yesterday and no live reset.
Happy to have 6-Sol but Anthropic won the vibes with 5.5 and introducing banked resets today.
Now that Codex tokens are less free I am spending more time developing features in HTML with database snapshots than using fully provisioned test environments.
Dev cycles use more wall time, product polish feels higher and tokens per prod deployment are down by a factor of 3.
New economics for founders:
Combo of Astra Extra High and Max on regular speed gives output equivalent to:
Engineering pod of 3
GTM engineer
P/T visual designer
P/T UX designer
For 96% less $$$
Codex desktop feature request:
Assignable colors to tasks with the ability to group tasks by color.
The color would display as a light background shade.
Hooks can assign colors.

“You have my undivided attention” has been an effective prompt with Astra when it tries to defer finishing a complex release.
Astra can talk to you like a partner without misrepresenting or underreporting whats been done. The productivity gain from trusted communication is awesome.
Rage coding = replacing infra in your stack when they are down instead of waiting for them to recover.
Codex makes it faster to rip and replace GitHub Actions with Cloudflare Workers than to wait for GitHub to recover from their hard down.
This was not your average podcast. @jefielding has known me for over a decade and really dug in to what drives me as a founder and why I wanted to go on this journey again. From meeting each other at Dogpatch Labs in New York's tech scene early days to our current relationship as co-founder and investor, I shared my inspiration behind Fora and what it's like being wired as a founder.
Thanks to @EverywhereVC for providing such a strong platform and supporting your founders.

Tech has shifted from growth obsessed consumer disruption to innovation at all cost enterprise disruption.
This mirrors policy shifts from QE and global trade fueling consumption to tightening and tariffs driving domestic productivity.
We moved from a manufacturing driven economy to a finance driven economy.
Next is an economy driven by industrialized AI.
No surprise - top tier team to work with. Congrats!
Big day! Super excited to announce GTMfund Fund II, a $54m fund continuing our focus on the very best early-stage B2B SaaS founders.
Fund II is our first institutional fund and was oversubscribed from a target of $50m to $54m.
We did this during one of the toughest fundraising environments - while many emerging funds are shutting down or raising a fraction of what they set out to raise. A testament to our team, our LPs, and the success of our current portfolio.
Since the beginning, our thesis has been simple: for the best founders in the world, capital is a commodity. They get to choose who is on their cap table and what partners they work with. Our singular focus at GTMfund is delivering a value proposition that gives us access to the top .1% of deals.
As software becomes easier to build, faster, and with fewer resources, go-to-market remains one of the last few moats.
The founders want our help. The other VCs in the deal want us there to help. Everyone wins.
And when we invest, we're able to leverage the robust Infrastructure we've built around our active network of GTM leaders to fully support our portfolio companies.
This raise marks a pivotal moment for our firm. We're just getting started. It all starts with our incredible team - Scott Barker, Paul Irving, Sophie Buonassisi, Vaibhavi Nesarikar (and a new addition to be announced next week.)
A huge thank you to the founders we’re privileged to work with every day.
A huge thank you to our Limited Partners who have placed their trust in us and are a massive part of the journey.
None of this is possible without your support!
