💶Self-Interest at the Cost of Human Development? 🇪🇺
The leaked EU briefing book on DG INTPA priorities raises serious concerns and could undermine SDGs and key human rights. EU-CORD calls for a balanced approach centred on social justice, sustainability, and shared values.
Yesterday, we attended Day 1 of the #RawMaterialsWeek and here are some thoughts:
a) The rush for Critical Raw Materials CRMs) will impact ALL the work we do in relief and development. Directly and Indirectly!
c) On the supply side, African countries also want to industrialise, which means that equitable partnerships should exist that recognise issues like the debt burden and climate responsibility challenges.
d) Civil Society organisations will have to keep asking for a seat at the table; it won't easily be handed to us. e) CRM use in technologies is transient, so while data and dialogue need to drive investment policies, they must also buttress our work as CSOs. #Faithbased

Last week, our Advocacy Coordinator, @MasenguTabeth joined our member @dorcashulp, to provide an inspirational session on advocacy to colleagues working on Community Safety Nets for older people in seven countries in Europe and Africa.
Discussions are focused on the youth as the future leaders, but we neglect those who have paved the way for us to be who we are right now. By working from the individual, community, and societal levels, Dorcas ensures that older persons are not Left Behind. #RightsofOlderPersons
