There you have it. After the massive howler, there’s no defence, no attempt to pretend the words were misspoken - just a correct “of course they are” (working people). PMQs will be fun tomorrow - Kemi will ask which one of them is right.
Watch the Chancellor chuck the minister who said ‘employers aren’t working people’ under the bus as he says ‘of course they are’. She was sitting a few seats away from him.

Thank you Emma for correcting the record. However you hugely INSULTED the many employers, SMEs that help to pay your wages, who EMPLOY other people that help to pay YOUR wages. Betwixt the two pay MOST of your wages. An apology wouldn’t go amiss
Of course the brilliant men and women across the country who run small businesses are working people - they are the backbone of our high streets and our economy.

A great advertising move would be a second John Lewis ad in a day or so that says: 'You didn't think that was our real Christmas ad, did you?' and it shows KST leaving the obnoxious family at home while she checks in to fabulous hotel and Gary Oldman is waiting for her😉

Emma Reynolds stated on TV what Labour thinks of working people. It was not out of sync with Philipson's comments on class. Truth is Labour aren't on the side of anyone who works for a living. Their priority is welfare and their client vote of state dependents. Reynolds back peddling doesn't wash.

They have it right. Treat Russia like the pariah state it really is.
BREAKING: Sweden and Norway announce that their ice hockey teams will follow Finland’s decision and will refuse to play against Russia in the World Cup next year. CAS recently ruled that Russia must be allowed to return to the sport and that the Russian team will play in the World Cup in Germany next year. Germany is also considering to refuse hosting the World Cup if Russia is to play or alternatively, introduce laws that will ban Russian athletes from receiving the visas needed to enter the country.

Lot of talk about the John Lewis Christmas ad. The problem is no supermarket can ever top what Sainsbury’s did in 2014. To commemorate the centenary of the Christmas Day truce during the First World War in 1914. Done with cooperation from the Royal British Legion. And military historians. m.youtube.com/watch?v=NWF2JB…

A lonely dog in Sloviansk lies beside its owner, the victim of yet another Russian war crime. Donald Trump is aligned with the monsters who did this. Our moral character, our very identity, is on the ballot today. Tolerate this, and you’re begging for the boomerang to come back. For the disease of indifference to become terminal.

I can’t quite get over the fact that one of the main architects of the budget… *the actual budget* has to make a correction like this It’s humiliating. It’s woeful. And it’s astonishing.

This shouldn’t need to be said but: If you run a sporting contest and one of your member nations is literally trying to erase another of your member nations off the face of the Earth through a vicious war of aggression that has already killed many hundreds of their athletes and coaches, and destroyed or damaged nearly a thousand of their sporting facilities, while attempting to upend the rules-based order that makes international sport possible in the first place, and the aggressor heavily incorporates its own athletes and competitors into its pro-war propaganda, then you are absolutely batshit insane if you think they can continue to play as normal. Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with you? Did you smack your head on the ice? Russia has destroyed five ice hockey rinks in Ukraine since starting its war of aggression, including this one pictured here in Druzhkivka, home to HC Donbas and a children's hockey and figure-skating school. It was storing humanitarian aid when Russia destroyed it.

For those tempted to defend Mendel: There is a difference between expressing an opinion and parroting mendacious propaganda. Information is a field of war, and for months now Mendel has been trudging through it as one of the Kremlin's footsoldiers.
Zelensky’s ex-press secretary Iuliia Mendel has been accused of high treason, with Ukrainian authorities alleging she justified Russia’s war. The SBU and Prosecutor General’s Office say they notified her of suspicion in absentia. Mendel, who lives abroad, was sanctioned in September. kyivpost.com/post/89039

President Zelenskyy had the Berlin Security Conference on its feet today. Thank you @ZelenskyyUa, and thank you to the Ukrainian people, for your courage. Rest of Europe, it’s past time to find ours. It’s time to finally fight to win.

President Zelenskyy told President Trump there will never be enough Patriot systems to defend both Ukraine and the Middle East. We cannot rely on interception alone. We must be able to strike russian missile launchers before they fire. The world needs Ukraine to develop and share effective ways to counter these attacks.

Russia — whose soldiers torture, rape and mutilate with impunity — has withdrawn from the European Convention for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment. This is a self-indictment by the world champion of torture and inhumanity. In reality, Russia abandoned the Convention long ago — establishing torture chambers in occupied Ukrainian cities and illegally detaining civilians since 2014. Russians continue to use the same torture methods against Ukrainian prisoners of war nowadays. This withdrawal will not exempt Russia from responsibility. On the contrary, it must only strengthen our efforts to hold Russia accountable. Justice must be served — and it will be.

I’ve had no running water since yesterday. Russia has carried out one of its largest attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, striking energy facilities more than 20 times in the past 24 hours. Living through this war has always been challenging, but with a three-week-old baby, it’s a whole new level. And this is only one example of how Russia’s ongoing attacks disrupt everyday life, while putting even more pressure on Ukraine’s already strained energy system.

Time and again the King manages to show deft diplomacy that outshines any govt minister 👏🏾 “history also teaches us that evil need not have the last word; that character and courage can combine to overcome the most monstrous injustice, as they did with the determination to end international trade in enslaved people, in which the Royal Navy played such a leading role.”

Tories had 1st & 2nd Muslim cabinet ministers, along with 1st & 2nd ethnic minority leaders & PMs in Disraeli & Sunak. Now they have the first black woman leader who could be to their 4th female PM. This idea only the progressive left creates opportunity for every Briton is demonstrably bunkum.
Humza Yousaf, author of Under Fire, an important and painfully honest testament, could never have flourished in Keir Starmer’s Labour Party, still less the Conservatives. As a proud Muslim and supporter of the Palestinian cause, that would have been out of the question. In the Scottish National Party, which embraced multiculturalism as its southern counterparts drifted towards coercive liberalism, he rose to the top. @OborneTweets: Humza Yousaf's private war newstatesman.com/culture/boo…

Farmers work tirelessly to feed our country, often on razor-thin margins, driven by pride in their land and generations of family tradition. The Government keeps piling on the costs: how can this be fair to those who put food on our tables?
