if you’re joining an early-stage startup, please understand that you’re not joining something that’s already been built. you’re joining to help build it.

timing TTFB on OpenRouter is like starting the stopwatch when the waiter says "coming right up" — the food is still in the kitchen. love that Lodestone measures the actual last token. free-tier 1/15 usable is the kind of chart that makes wallets suddenly feel generous 😅

Nigeria is a global crime scene. Dangote a private citizen can spin the world’s largest single-train refinery in 6 years but Nigeria in 65 years cannot build power plants to permanently solve its electricity challenges. This is national sabotage and treason from those in power!
In 2024, Nigerians were told to pay over 200% more for “stable power.” Two years later, the national grid is collapsing twice in one week — and ₦128bn is unaccounted for.

You cannot book Lagos to Ibadan train tickets more than 3 days ahead but tickets for Saturday 31 October are all completely sold out by 11am on Thursday 29th. Even plane tickets don’t sell out this quickly. Oh well, this is the beginning of the end of that train. ✌🏾

Again yes, Zanzibar has pristine beaches and beautiful turquoise waters, but it also has real homes and every day lives. Everywhere doesn’t look like a luxury resort. We should be more mindful. These are people’s homes, not just backdrops for your instagram dump.

On 28 October, the free AI models behind my app stopped working. I measured it: 3 attempts each on 5 free models, 15 in all. 1 usable answer in 15. It took 25 seconds. Here is what happened, and what I built after: A thread.

The best lesson came from calling the backup providers for real. @GroqLLC had withdrawn the model I listed (404). Its model list also held speech and safety models I counted as chat: 11, not 4. @RequestyAI had no credit (402). My tests with fakes had passed all of it.

They. NEVER. learn.
I tried to tell people, digital footprint is very real What happens inside certain companies, was never meant to be public knowledge There is a reason it wasn't for decades, now many people are going to pay the price (in addition to companies being greedy) but this helps
