tis the one thing that irritates me the most about the us. all that sazz about freedom & what not, you have basically unlimited land. bam. speed limit in the middle of the fucking desert.
I have a dumb question. How many people die on the autobahn Like is it disproportionate to other euro highways? American highways? Should we all be allowed to go 200?

🚨 introducing hobbylm-1b computer use -- fully offline, open weights & we made it 13x faster: 3.4 s → 0.26 s per decision. my 1b model booked a call for sunday 7pm while wi‑fi was off. it found the name in contacts, worked out which sunday, set the time in my time zone, asked y/n, then added the event to calendar with no internet and no cloud, on a macbook air. what else it does live offline as per tested: "split 600 among 4 people" → 150 in calculator "make my screen bright" → brightness up "sound is harsh, turn it down a notch" → volume down "mute everything" → muted "turn on dark mode" → dark mode on "bring back the light theme" → light mode on "i need to write something down" → notes opens "need papers from documents" → documents folder opens "seven minute timer for eggs" → 7-minute timer set "grab a screenshot" → saved to the desktop "what's the weather tomorrow" → "i can't do that one offline." yeah, how a 1b model covers this much in offline: 14 mb adapter on our own pretrained base, with a bit of fine-tuning, run fully on-device. thanks @hariharanms95 for pulling this off weights, code and every test result: huggingface.co/Hobbylm/hobby…
we have received a lot of dms asking: how 2 people, without a research lab, trained hobbylm using roughly 100 - 400× fewer gpu-hours than many models in this space so here is the short answer: we spent 76 hours training on 4 h200s, bringing the full base run to roughly 304 gpu-hours. for context: sarvam-1: ~122,880 gpu-hours zoho zia 7b: ~153,600 gpu-hours llama 3.2 1b: 370,000 gpu-hours llama 3.2 3b: 460,000 gpu-hours i will share the engineering decisions, failed experiments, what worked, and the full training story over the next few days. built with @hariharanms95.

We believe voice is the most natural way to interact with intelligence, so we created Dessa, the most authentic full-duplex speech model ever built. Talking with it feels like talking with a person…full of emotion, nuance, pauses, and a natural cadence. block.xyz/dessa

please listen to dessa. i have never heard anything artificial that sounded so… human. if you ever doubted that human-ai-relationships were going to be a thing. well. this snippet will convince you otherwise.

AI 時代真是好,macOS 的整個 runtime 很快就可以逆向到 Linux 上了。作者應該開源,然後把 harness 的方法公開一下,所有人的 AI 加進去一起撞出全部的 API 出來。 cutefish.org/blog/running-ma…

> I honestly feel like we're improving on the Berghain form here, especially by swapping out the crowd of weird partiers in inappropriate clothes (or lack there of) with insanely cracked founders and engineers.
My experience partying all night at Berghain in Berlin made me think of how we're lacking this experience in the San Francisco tech scene. We can literally become the coolest, most tasteful social scene on Earth if we had our version of Berghain, but better. So let's build it. The best aspect of Berhain is how they select who gets in. The club has a vibe and atmosphere, and if you aren't wearing the right clothes or have the right demeanor, you don't get in. That's how you cultivate a tasteful crowd. We can improve on this by only letting in high agency, talented operators in the tech scene who can still pull off dope outfits, so no geeks. SF is in dire need of late night venues, and Berghain goes until 8am. That's a little too crazy for high net worth operators who are changing the world so we could do something like 2am. Berghain also is kinda dark and in a weird building so we'd put the club in a SoMa corporate office that we convert to speakeasy or barcade vibe. Maybe add a quiet area for people to bring their laptops and work? I honestly feel like we're improving on the Berghain form here, especially by swapping out the crowd of weird partiers in inappropriate clothes (or lack there of) with insanely cracked founders and engineers. I'm super stoked about this idea, SF tech could really run the dopest parties on the planet.

DisHonored 2 is now available in #VR. - 6DOF head tracking: lean, peek and crouch with your body - Full arms with IK: your hands are your controllers - Swing the sword to strike: the blade hits what it touches - Pistol and crossbow fire where you point them - Powers come out of your hand, grenades are thrown with your arm Grab, carry and throw objects (and bodies) - Menus on a big screen in the room, the HUD as a watch on your wrist - Cutscenes play around you, and you can look anywhere ⚠️Requirements: Dishonored 2 on Steam (not GOG / Game Pass / Death of the Outsider), a PC VR headset with OpenXR, and the game in windowed mode. I made and played it on a Quest 3 over Link / Air Link; other headsets should work too, let me know how it goes. 🔗github.com/thecosmictangerin… 🔗nexusmods.com/dishonored2/mo… #PCVR

A user has made not only basestation 1.0 support more than 2 devices, but created a custom sensor fusion driver that surpasses the tracking accuracy of my FOUR 2.0 lighthouses. Wtf.
here's a comparison between the stock driver (left video) and the upcoming openhouse driver (right video) I'm moving the controllers around and then shaking the controllers violently here. SteamVR's driver loses tracking many times while openhouse does not lose it at all :3

you finally finish a 180 GB download hit extract "not enough disk space" unzip needs room for the archive AND the files. hatchzip doesn't: it unpacks from the end and eats the archive as it goes free and open source. windows, mac, linux
