.@AnnieAndrewsMD can pull off this race. We had a steep uphill battle in ‘20 but the Democratic stars are aligning for Annie and S.C. Democrats this year! I ran against a well-funded incumbent with Trump on the ballot. Annie is running for an OPEN seat, against an opponent with little political experience and bad political instincts in what is shaping up to be a Democratic wave year, with Trump NOT on the ballot. And we’ve been building. This spring, I worked with the state party to recruit a Democrat to run in all 124 State House districts, every congressional district and every statewide race, the first time we’ve ever done that in SC. Then, after Republicans tried to wipe out Black representation in Congress through redistricting, Black voters responded with HISTORIC turnout in our Democratic primary. That matters. More candidates means more organizing, more doors knocked, more voters contacted and stronger turnout everywhere. We had a lot of challenges in ‘20 that Annie doesn’t have to face. Annie can raise the money. She can build the organization. And for the first time in a long time, Democrats have candidates fighting everywhere. South Carolina is tough. But tough ain’t impossible. Don’t sleep on Annie Andrews.
