a lot of "creative" jobs are in my opinion more like "communication" jobs. you have to do a therapist-like act of embodying the troubles and needs of someone else

I think we're going to see a new wave of interest in usability. Chat is hard on the brain. Total opposite of what Don Norman wrote about. 100% holding in your head, remembering things, special modes, etc. Nobody wants the stuff in their kitchen to be in a different place each time they walk in. System of record + recognizable display are not going away. What's new is how fluidly we can change state WITHIN those as users.

AI just writing code like us at the end of the day.
Let's create some components for these user interface elements so we can reuse them in other views of the application.

the gift of alcohol and other drug experiences is to reveal to you that your sober state is no less strange nor surreal than your intoxicated one. in either case you are a phantom floating through physical sensation, and while you may be more cogent, you’re equally dislocated

made a tool for designers to build their own design tools every tool gets the same clean controls, then you share it with your client, use only or full edit free to try at blueprint.page

i keep getting asked how i use ai to automate design so well through my MCP. my apologies for not making this clear. the ai isn’t designing. at all. there is no skill file, no workflow, no prompt ai to create a good UI and efficient UX on its own. - spacing and sizing clunky - everything is an extra 3-4 clicks - it ignores the design system - it barfs microcopy all over the page - it breaks basic scanning patterns - motion is linear and doesn’t guide attention you have to hold its hand and steer every detail. it’s a grind. and the whole point of the mcp is to allow me to take it off your plate and do that for you. without leaving your chat thread.

We're about to enter a period where not reading or writing becomes as ubiquitous as smoking once was. We can hope people will eventually realize this is bad for them, as they did with smoking. But this is far from certain; the cost may not be as obvious.

tech desperately needs a new design aesthetic we literally have agi now and flying cars but every ui looks the same with this apple/linear minimalist rounded corner tailwind shadcn slop look we’re not thinking big enough on how things should look and feel chatting with an agent should look and make me feel like i’m living in the future it should make me feel hope and awe and optimism that humanity actually got to agi and it will lead to unimaginable prosperity it should make me tap into my 9 year old self, who wondered if we’d *ever* have talking humanoid robots, and make me feel totally amazed by the realization that this future is not even a possibility now, it is a CERTAINTY! the time is so ripe now the coding agents have gotten so good that we can be experimenting and playing with new ideas 100x faster than before now is the time for excessive experimentation

Dalai Lama - we must deal with emotions. We all have this marvelous human brain. The problem is when negative emotions develop, our whole mind is taken over. I can change my mind.

hi andrew, i think im the exact kind of person who’d excel at this role. here’s why: - i got my first job at jpmorgan by winning their asia-wide hackathon, and i haven't stopped building since. - i built workabout nyc for a personal cause and it hit 50k users in the first 2 days. - this weekend i'm launching mochi, a desktop agent that fixes the gaps i kept hitting in current consumer agents. (and have a detailed draft of my observations and thesis of this landscape!) - i started my substack to think out loud about consumer and culture. i've written on consumer trends, brand discovery in the age of ai, neuroscience, and ai through art history: seconddraftbyrucha.substack.… - i also co-host distilled, a community of ~200 ai researchers and builders in nyc, and i'm preparing for cfa level 2. building things myself & an on ground understanding of consumer consciousness is how i see what's possible in what founders are building. tried dm-ing but your dms are closed!

Metal effect is now available for SwiftUI. As expected, it reacts and bends when a magnet is nearby. Ready to use on libraries.dev
