Nearly 1200 farmers voiced their opinions on @USDA surveys and reporting. We hope @SecRollins @usda_nass @POTUS pay attention to what they had to say and put the American Farmer first 🧵

The @USDA does not understand the loss of trust and confidence the American farmer has in them, and only radical change will regain it. Fill out the survey, and share this message if it resonates with you. forms.gle/oz9iHcD9XZCjP1Tq5

Sunday morning thoughts, but if you're selling grain to be picked up, make sure you have it specified in writing whether or not a fuel surcharge can be added at a later time. This is especially big for merchants starting out, that surcharge can wipe out your margin

"Ethanol is why Americans are getting screwed at the pump” is a heck of a claim when you leave out the value of octane.
Refiners produce lower-octane gasoline blendstock and use #ethanol’s high octane to bring finished gasoline up to spec.
Octane isn’t free. And lately, it REALLY isn’t free.
At today’s octane values, #corn ethanol is SAVING drivers ~40–60¢ per gallon at the pump.

Nostalgic memes spread misleading messages, like:
“Once, families could own a home & send their kids to college on one income.”
But the homes were smaller.
Most kids didn’t go to college.
The memes ignore facts.

Going to end the week with a good ole' fashioned 2026 price comparison for fertilizer. How much have prices ranged from their low/high?
NOLA Urea - $385
UAN - $232.50
DAP - $180
MAP - $191.50
Potash - $47.50
Midwest NH3 - $360
Potash is the only stable thing we have.

This came from another conversation I am on here on X.
Big reason phosphate prices are so high is sulfur. This shows the estimated cost of DAP production going back to 2023.
Today's lone sulfur cost is as much or more than 14 of the month's TOTAL cost of production.

The labor shortage in the trades isn't a labor shortage.
It's the bill coming due on telling a generation that working with their hands was beneath them.
The fix takes a generation. Nobody's started it yet.

A new study by @NationalCorn found:
-U.S. corn seed prices averaged 68% higher than Brazil’s
-Insecticide prices averaged 87% higher
-Some fungicides cost more than double what Brazilian farmers paid
-Many herbicide comparisons also approached double Brazilian price levels
For NCGA President Jed Bower, an Ohio farmer, the findings confirm concerns many growers have held for years: “It sure doesn’t look like we’re the low-cost producer anymore,” Bower says. “The study shows the American farmer is really paying for all the innovation and research for the rest of the world to take advantage of.”

Replying to @CBKimbrell
@CBKimbrell this is the loss ratio for Texas Corn. For the last 15 years. Farmer payed premium plus subsidies vs Losses.
When companies enter the state they have to take the whole state. This doesn’t include the disaster payments. And yes this affects ethanol!

Many do not realize how many farmsteads have been lost over the last 70 years in the Midwest.
