Chief Market Strategist / Partner @ Pivotus Partners. Always seeking truth / assessing risks. My opinions only. Not investment advice. Do the work!

Joined January 2017
I write macroeconomic and strategy assessments for the institutional investment community. My posts here are things that I find interesting, thoughtful, or merely just entertaining. Although some of my posts may reflect strongly-held views on the investment landscape, that doesn't mean those views won't change as facts change and it certainly doesn't mean those things are right for YOU! Proper investment advice involves a deep understanding of your goals, needs, and risk-tolerances. Nobody should consider anything here investment advice, but rather, merely informative. I'd probably offer the same level of caution about getting medical advice here too, by the way. Have a health issue? See a doctor. Want to devise a financial plan? Well, see a financial advisor. Twitter ain't going to cure you in either instance.

Notable reversal in CDS today. If credit conditions free up, we'll be off to races again.

Important to understand this. Big company gets index and ETF buying. Small company? Probably needs to be bought by the big company or let PE do all the work.
Anthropic next. With levered funds already lining up, should be “well received” by ewe. Odd how the small IPOs are failing while the trillionaires are coming… 🥴

So if there's going to be "stranded compute" and "guppy level death" in 2027, why the fk would you borrow $40B to buy compute for 2027 delivery? Something sounds like BS.

I am shocked, absolutely shocked, that Anthropic ARR has likely gone vertical in October after they cut token prices. Except the exact same thing happened for the entire AI market, which is why GPU rental prices have surged while token prices declined. $100b plus in year-end ARR looks possible again.

Folks, Lula has been President of Brazil for 12 years. He's not about to lead Brazil into guppy-level death.

If you put money into a private company and got to mark your book up many times and pay yourself bonuses based on this paper valuation, what's your next move? I don't think they're going to want to burn the house down.

Chamath Palihapitiya says the most obvious thing to point AI at is Satoshi's wallet, drain it, go short, tell people, make the money twice "And then the third is around AI... the most obvious thing to point it to would be to Satoshi's wallet and... just kind of drain the wallet and then go short and then tell people that you did it. So then you'd make the money twice." [ Peter: So, do you think Bitcoin is cooked? ] "I just think it's capped, and then I think eventually it gets hacked, and then it goes to zero."

More reporting suggesting that Musk does indeed have his finger on Starshield's operability. Quite a lot of power for a ketamine-addicted trillionaire in bed with hostile foreign regimes. You might even say this endangers U.S. national security. wsj.com/world/trump-called-m…
