I disagree with Noah about a few things, but this an excellent and thorough encapsulation on the immigration issue: open.substack.com/pub/noahpi…

In the end, govt doesn't need "funding" from private sector. These are just empty words.

Messaging would be much better as: "Taxes and borrowings are not necessary to fund spending. A small tweak to the FRA or Invoking the Trilling Dollar Coin obviates the need for taxes or borrowing. The Fed which is part of govmnt issues money."

Its a little longer but has the advantage of being TRUE. While "taxes or borrowings don't fund spending" is false without further explanation like - Fed is part of govt.

Replying to @BTRBT_ @PerBylund
so... what's your question again? Can we get stuff for free? absolutely, under the right circumstances. Scenario 1: millions of people sitting on their asses collecting welfare watching Fox News. Scenario 2: everyone is working producing goods and services. See: Job Gty

Isn't @BTRBT_ a snowflake? What a snowflake!
I'm a good puncher. My point is that certain economic disciplines are obsessed with scarcity. But the truth is, you don't run out of resources until you run out of people --> full employment. That's the stat to focus on. Keep Employment at 100% at all times w a Job Gty.

Rates should always be at zero. If folks don't want to hold cash, they can hold Oh I don't know - Govt securities. If inflation becomes an issue, tax rates go up incrementally until things cool off. You need some education.

Its an assumption of the Job Gty. That's the whole point.

Nice. And since they also respond when one only suspects smoke/leak, the argument holds not just for 'burning' healthcare issues.
