Another thing you can do to protect birds is, if you happen to be the mayor of a large city on a major migratory flyway, say, a city like Chicago, you can work with your city council to make bird-friendly design mandatory for all new construction.
Draw shades and turn off all non-essential lights from 11 p.m. to sunrise to protect birds, especially during the peak migration seasons. Other ways you can help: 🐦 Stock your bird feeders 🐦 Grow native plants 🐦 Full and fresh water sources 🐦 Leave your leaves for shelter!

You ever wondered what a couple seconds of a tiny portion of sky would look like during a morning with 180,000+ migrating warblers? That’s oddly specific, but wonder no more!

This week, over 900 households in Sweetwater, Texas are getting handwritten letters from kids asking them to help stop the slaughter at their town's annual rattlesnake roundup. I was struck by this quote, which is 100% spot on. 1/6 – at Santa Margarita, CA

At least 17 sevengill #sharks have been killed by infamous #killerwhale pair Port & Starboard this week in South Africa. Only the livers were eaten with the leftover carcasses washing ashore [1/3] 📸 @MarineDynamics Christine Wessels

Can't stop thinking about how Central Washington once was a swampland inhabited by miniature horses, which is why it was the perfect location to film this nature documentary.
