When we applied to @ycombinator , we had $800 in monthly revenue. We were running free tests, and people kept asking if they could pay us. So we started charging right before the application. W27 applications close Nov 2. Someone on my team asked me this week what YC looks for. I think YC invests in team and traction, and maybe more in the team. Here's where I'd put the effort: 1. Fill in the achievements part properly. It's a required field anyway, so link it to what you're building. For us that was my time at Retool and the team's experience scaling a technical product for non-technical people. 2. Tell the story behind your traction. $800 a month is a small number. Users asking to pay for a free test says a lot more. 3. Put most of your prep into the team part. I don't have data on this, but from the stories I've heard, the team matters more than traction a lot of the time. If you're waiting for bigger numbers before you apply, I wouldn't. Apply here: ycombinator.com/apply. The on-time deadline is Nov 2, 8pm PT.

Floot (@floothq) is where vibecoded software runs. Yujian Yao (@yyjhao) rebuilt the runtime behind every Retool app as a staff engineer there, after being an early engineer at Asana. At YC in Summer 2025 Floot launched as an AI app builder for non-coders, built from the ground up for AI. Today you connect Floot to Claude or ChatGPT and the model you already pay for builds a full stack app: backend, database, hosting and your own domain. It can even publish to iOS and Android. @guilleflorvs and I are investors. xitter.cf/rdominguezibar/status/…

We killed our old referral program when Floot changed. The old bonus just didn’t make sense for how people build now. So I’m bringing it back, way simpler: Every friend you bring who upgrades = half a month free for you. That’s it. The credit goes straight to your next payment or auto-reload, or you can turn it into AI or hosting credits. Building is better with friends. Bring yours 👇 floot.com/dashboard/referral…

Your app looks great when everything works. But that’s the only way you’ve ever seen it. Nobody clicks through to the failed save, or loads 500 items into a list to see if it holds up, or checks what a brand-new account with nothing in it looks like. Your users find those for you. Today we’re launching Floot Examples. Connect @floothq to Claude or ChatGPT and ask it to “create examples for the Home page.” You get your real page in each of those situations (loading, empty, failed, a very long list) as cards next to the preview, and you can open any of them and click around. The data behind them is staged, so nothing touches your database. Your AI looks at them too. After a change it opens an example, takes a screenshot and checks the result, instead of telling you it’s fixed and hoping. Vibe coding brings your idea to life. Craft is caring about the parts nobody demos, and Examples puts those in front of you. How it works, with clips of each step: floot.com/docs/getting-start…

You built the app that runs your business with AI. Right now, anyone can find it on the internet and open it. That changes today. Introducing Internal publish. Put your app online without opening it to the world. Your app keeps its URL. You choose who gets in. Everyone else stays outside. And there’s no login system to build. Floot checks every request before it reaches your app, protecting pages and APIs alike. Access is enforced at the platform level, so you don’t have to rely on your app’s login code to keep it private. Open Publish, choose Internal publish, and invite people by email. They receive an invite, sign in to Floot, and they’re in. Custom domains work too, and you can make your app public at any time. What would you build if it didn’t have to be public?

We started Floot with two engineers and a belief that anyone should be able to ship a real app. The product has grown a lot since then, and so has the team. Today we're excited to welcome Joanie Lam as our first Founding Designer. Joanie started out designing graphics for her family's fashion business, sharpened her craft at J.Crew and Gap Inc., and has since designed tools in aerospace, NASA, and nonprofits. At Floot we're building the full system around AI that helps people ship real apps. Most of our users aren't engineers, so how the product feels matters as much as what it does. Every screen, every interaction, every moment where someone isn't sure what to do next is a design problem before it's an engineering problem. Until now, we've been solving those problems as we go. Joanie is here to solve them on purpose. When we talked, what stood out to me most was how driven she is by impact. That's the mindset we want: real products, built for real people, that actually work. She's also a new dog mom to Pom Pom, a Pomeranian mix with a 24/7 snack habit, and spends crab season catching Dungeness crab in San Francisco. Welcome to Floot, Joanie!

THIS IS INSANE Claude can write your entire app. It just never had anywhere to put it The model writes the code in seconds Then you lose the weekend to databases, auth, hosting and deploys The brain was never the problem The body was @floothq is the body Plug it into Claude or ChatGPT once and describe what you want. You get a live app with a real database, logins and URL. Web, iOS and Android from one chat No second bill for AI credits. Your subscription does the thinking The founders spent a year building their own AI agent, then scrapped it once the models got good enough That's the kind of call you only make when you see where things are heading Congrats @yyjhao on the launch Live on Product Hunt today with 30% off your first month. Build an app in Claude or ChatGPT. Ship it to the app stores from the same chat. That’s Floot, and we’re live on Product Hunt today! Floot gives your AI a zero-setup full-stack workspace with a database, user logins, hosting, and a live URL. Your existing AI subscription does the thinking, so we don’t charge based on how much AI you use. The newest piece is mobile publishing. Say “make this a mobile app,” connect your Apple or Google developer account once, and Floot handles the build and sends it to TestFlight or Google Play. No need to buy a Mac or fiddle with Xcode or Android Studio. If you’ve built something with Floot, the most helpful thing you could do today is leave a short comment about what you made. If you’re new to Floot, there’s also a code for 30% off your first month on the launch page. producthunt.com/products/flo…

🚨 YOU CAN BUILD REAL APPS INSIDE YOUR CLAUDE CHAT not code snippets. not mockups. real apps with a database, a backend, and a link you can send to anyone. you connect Floot once (one minute) and then you just ask claude to build it, like you'd ask it anything else. → real database behind it → backend that actually runs → published with a shareable link → no coding, no terminal, nothing new to learn i don't code. i built a working app last night in one conversation. link below. takes one minute to connect try it with that app idea you've been sitting on.

Your website is now an iPhone app. Just ask ChatGPT or Claude. Take any website you’ve built on @floothq , say “make this a mobile app,” and we’ll run the build and send your app to TestFlight and Google Play. No Mac, Xcode or Android Studio needed We handle all of it. Click publish and Floot builds the mobile app and sends the iOS app to TestFlight and the Android app to Google Play, ready to test with your team and submit when you’re ready. There’s no separate mobile version to build and no code to rewrite. You just need a developer account for whichever stores you want to publish to. Floot already gives you the full stack: backend, hosting, email and notifications, all built in. Now that same stack ships to phones too. The same prompt that built your website puts it on the App Store. Try it free on your next project: floot.com

I FOUND AN APP BUILDER THAT DOESN'T CHARGE FOR AI CREDITS. every app builder i tried had the same catch: new account, new interface, and a credit meter that drains every time you ask for a change. Floot skips all of that. no separate ai, no new tool to learn it runs straight through claude, the one you already have open. describe the app in chat. it builds the real thing: working database, working backend, live link when it's done. → your claude subscription covers it, no second bill → real database, not a demo shell → see it update live as you talk to it → nothing to install, nothing to configure turned out the "app builder" i was missing was the ai i was already paying for. full build, no cuts, in the video below.

I FIGURED OUT HOW TO BUILD MY APP FROM A CLAUDE CHAT. had an app idea sitting in my notes for months. not knowing how to code kept it there while someone else shipped it first. what changed: Floot connects to claude directly. you don't open a new tool you just keep talking to the ai you already use every day. ask for the app, and it gets built for real. database, backend, a link you can actually share. → still the claude you know, nothing new to figure out → no extra credits stacked on top of your subscription → real backend running, not a mockup → watch it take shape from your first message not knowing how to code stopped being the excuse. full process, no cuts, in the video below.

Someone connected Lovable to Floot this week 😂 So it got me looking: what agents are using Floot to build? Of course the top 1 and 2 are ChatGPT and Claude, but there are a few more interesting ones too: Grok and Cursor - unfortunately we can't find a way to submit to their official marketplace, but people are connecting it directly using the MCP string. The fun ones - Lovable and Bolt (no Replit yet). One of our value prop is that you get to save on token costs but I guess it doesn't hurt if you want to port your other projects over 😂 A bunch of personal agents, Hermes, OpenClaw, Town, etc. although these seem more like experiments. Most of the users use only one agent, about 5% uses more than 1 - but they are among the heaviest users. These power users aren't loyal to any single agent, and we are not going to make them choose.

We opened @floothq to AI agents last Tuesday. Every day since launch has been a new all-time record. This week: - ~1M tool calls - 187K yesterday alone - 1,000+ agents building in a single day Floot MCP has now crossed 3M tool calls - it barely exists a month ago. Some interesting stats on what the agents are doing: - 60K+ test runs - 100K+ browser debugging sessions - 25K+ screenshots taken - 180K+ SQL queries This is without all of the engineering to nudge them to do it. Agents are no longer vibe coding - they are increasingly working like engineers autonomously.

App builders like lovable/replit should not exists in 2026. Why would you want to buy overpriced tokens from them instead of getting it directly from Claude/ChatGPT? If the reason is you are non-technical and don't want to deal with all the messy details, just use floot.com ! We give you the convenience without binding you to overpriced tokens.

This is so dumb, connect a coding agent to another coding agent so that the coding agent can send prompts to the other coding agent to double charge you AI credits.
Lovable is now available in @antigravity, Google's agentic development platform. Connect once and your agents can reach your entire Lovable workspace to build, iterate, query data, and deploy.

Claude and ChatGPT can already write you an app. Getting it live is another story. Today we're fixing that: connect @floothq, and you can build and ship real apps directly inside Claude and ChatGPT - on the web, in the desktop apps, or from your phone. The model you already pay for writes and debugs the code, shows you a live preview, and publishes to your own domain. No git, Vercel, Supabase, Resend or OneSignal to set up - a stack of tools that was never built for you anyway. And the part we're most excited about: Floot doesn't charge you AI credits. Every message, every change, every random question uses the Claude or ChatGPT subscription you already have. No need to settle for a lesser model to make the credits last! Why we're doing this: We started Floot to create the easiest and most powerful way to build with AI. Model constraints in 2025 meant you had to wrap AI APIs with careful engineering to get great results. Since then AI has advanced tremendously and no longer needs that wrapping. ChatGPT and Claude can use Floot to build end to end now, and the providers can give you the most economical and powerful AI directly - so we pass that along. You should get the best AI at the price you already pay, and spend your attention on the app, not the meter. Takes a minute to connect. Free to start: floot.com

OpenAI and SpaceXAI both shipped new models today. GPT-5.6 was held two weeks for a government safety review before it could go public - the Department of Commerce literally had to sign off before release. Anthropic's Fable 5 got hit with the same thing last month, pulled offline three days after launch and held for nearly three weeks. And then there's Grok 4.5, the first real thing out of the SpaceX/xAI/Cursor merger. Trained on actual Cursor developer sessions - nobody else has that data. So the government is now in the release cycle and there's a new entrant with data you can't replicate. I guess the compute race was the easy part.
