News... as from this coming Friday, I am removing twitter from my device and will no longer be checking any posts, updates, dm's etc. Ie, please do not contact me here. No, I don't really use masterdon either. Just a different level of crap on that one.

Hey @NZRugby ... about the Snorting Table... I mean, Ranruly Shield. I know you'll be disappointed, but will take any action against those involved? Maybe test the entire team every 2-3 days for 2-3 months? Maybe tell them to own up, or the entire team is booted? Anything?

Two corrections to my previous post: Firstly, I spelt Ranfurly wrong. My mistake. I apologise for that. I hope I do not get cancelled for my grievous and almost unforgivable mistake. Secondly, it's currently two Snorting Tables. Mea culpa the second.

This is a great thread by @avgasaddiction…with an honest assessment of his own recent experience. I totally agree that the outcome doesn’t necessarily mean the incident was well handled, luck runs out sometimes. As for turn backs… its a no from me unless i was well above 1000’ AGL. The manoeuvre is marginal at best and has resulted in many fatalities. As pilots we need to be honest with ourselves, we can always learn something from others. #WePilots #aviation #GeneralAviation
Shock and startle, a thread 🧵- I’ve just listened to a podcast which included a first-person account of two engine failures with turn backs. Whilst I value the candour and sharing I was left a little alarmed by the instructor’s reasoning and evaluation of his own performance…

Ha!
“At that time (1909) the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.” - Igor Sikorsky

This is insane: today the Caproni Ca.3 replica, the world’s only WWI bomber in flight conditions, flew in formation with an @ItalianAirForce F-35B over Istrana (the HH.101 you can see was carrying the ItAF photographers).

Really don't understand a certain airline's status upgrade process. I've had the required points for almost a week, they show in the app, the website and app show part of the info for the next tier, and yet it'll only "become effective within the next 7 business days"?? Weird.

Not saying it is wrong or anything. Yes it is a third world problem. But... it's weird and seems odd when their own systems say the upgrade has been earned and is pending. Oh well.

Fantastic. Now to roll out around the rest of the world 👍🏻
Today, London City Airport became the first major airport in the UK to deploy next generation security scanners, meaning passengers no longer need to remove laptops or liquids, and can carry 2 litres bottles in their hand luggage. Full story here: media.londoncityairport.com/…

Congrats to @AirwaysNZ on a nice tool for pilots. Even easier to get the required preflight info these days.
Our congratulations to the team at Aeropath, subsidiary of @AirwaysNZ, for their @CANSONews Global Safety Achievement Award 2022 win. The Flight Advisor tool aims to assist situational awareness for pilots operating at low levels in uncontrolled airspace. airways.co.nz/media-centre/m…
